Been coming here for a long while, one of my favorite hookah bars. It's just not staying competitive: parking is more difficult at Ranosh. The new tables on the patio are pretty bad -- you can't pull your chair in. And in the inside they allow smoking in the big room. I hope they fix this. It's bad business: people shouldn't be allowed to smoke cigars and cigarettes. The hookah is great.
It's the best patio experience in Houston. Unfortunately, it's just too hot for that in the summer. The patio is a 10/10. Natural trees, laid back, fenced off from the road. Come here when the weather is nice and you want to sit on the patio. The non-smoking room isn't the same experience. It's a 3/10. It's more for families. The big room inside is a coin-toss between being my favorite thing in Houston and ruined by a cigar smoke. When it has cigar smokers, I'll actually leave. When there are no cigar smokers it's 10/10 when there are no cigar smokers, and cigarette smokers. They put 4 air conditioner units in the big room. It fights Houston heat really well, but I'll take the old hot-and-musty room without the cigar smoke. Different strokes for different folks.
Hookah smoke isn't cigarette and cigar smoke. Even if they're just as bad for you, one of them has tar and additives and sticks to your clothes. Hookah smoke smells fruity and great -- most people that don't smoke like it or aren't bothered by it; but, it's ruined by the taste of cigars 20 feet away. My friends also refuse to come here for the same reason. I wouldn't come here to smoke hookah inside. The cigar and cigarette smoke also has the effect of driving away all the women (and most of the people born and raised in the USA, where we don't eat near cigar smokers).
On the subject of food, it's pretty solid. They don't sell much, but what they do sell is really great. That's how it should be. Avoid the salads outside of Friday/Saturday, ymmv. But the Chicken Tawook, Mixed Grill, and Chicken Shawarma are always a home run. It's easy to explain why the food here is better, Ranosh makes its own bread. That makes a huge difference. You'll never get a tortilla wrap here. Probably the best Chicken...

Valet parking The valet parking guy was super rude. When we got there, there was a spot right in front of the entrance, and he didn't let me park there. I told him I'd pay whatever your valet fee was. He said he has to park himself, and it will not be in this spot. That spot is reserved for Uber Eat. I asked if he could point out where else I could park, and I'd still pay him the price. He said he would decide where to park and could not tell me. I gave up and gave him the keys. Within 2 minutes, he let someone else park in the spot where I asked first. Those people were not from Uber Eats, but they were dining in, like us
Service: No one came after 5 minutes of waiting on the table. So, I went to the counter and asked if I had to order here? He sent someone who was also not friendly. He took the order and when he brought our dishes, he didn't bring our drinks. I thought he would bring it soon. Nope. Then I went inside and asked for drinks. They sent the same guy who didn't even say sorry for forgetting the part order. He brought 4 drinks instead of 5 we ordered and disappeared again. Then I went inside and asked the counter guy who said I could grab drinks from the fridge.
After eating, we wanted to try some dessert and tea. No one around, so I went to find him. He took my order. We asked anotherbgentleman if we could get 2 togo boxes. He said, "Yes, but he never brought." Then, I had to find my original server again and request the boxes. This time, he brought. We requested check, he left the folder, and we put the payment card inside. Again, he didn't return to collect it. Then I took the folder inside so I could pay and leave. He saw me and came around to take the payment.
Tip: They added $21 automatically to the bill for the AWESOME service we received. We paid a total of $170.
Food quality: Below average.
Ambiance: Light string with bulbs was un-operational near the waterfall, where we were sitting. The speaker playing some sports games on the TV was too loud (foreign language), which no one was...
Read more😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡Today, November 12, 2021, At 6:30 I was in this cafe. When I arrived there with two small children, I could not park my car because the parking lots were busy, but several parking lots were free and there were cones on them. There was a man in a booth in the parking lot, he works in this cafe too, he saw that I could not find a place, I am first time in this cafe, but he did not help me park my car 🚗😡😡😡. I had to park my car near the nearest building, opposite the cafe, and by the way, he saw how I drove out of them and parked near another building. when I came to the cafe, I turned to this men, who worked in the parking lot and asked him if it was possible to park there, he answered me that he knew nothing 😡😡😡. I went to the cafe, we were served by a nice girl from Kazakhstan, for which I am grateful to her for the service. I left the cafe with my children and did not see my car, I was scared 😱😭. I had a friend with me, she is good that she knows good English, because My English is not good. It turned out that there, when I parked, I could not park the car. we called the number indicated there and went to pick up the car. my friend asked them to reduce the amount of the fine, because I did not understand what was written there. but they didn't. had to pay a $ 245 fine 😔. I want to warn all of you that in this cafe there may be parking cones if there are free ones. I have a suspicion that the employee who works in the parking lot of the cafe is at the same time with the guys who take the cars in tow. because he saw everything, he knew everything, I turned to him, but he answered me that he knew nothing 😡😡😡. he behaved humanly badly 👎☝️. maybe they are tau making money together. I very angry left them. be careful. and it is better not to go to...
