I heard good things about this place, but they did not live up to the reputation. I ordered chicken salad sandwich with chicken tortilla soup. The soup was watered down with grease sitting on top. The bowl was only filled half way. A very small scoop of chicken salad was dropped on the smallest slices of "regular" wheat bread that I have ever seen. This combination cost $8.43!!! The chicken salad was very good...but I only received 1 small scoop, so maybe I was just hungry!

Pros: run by some very sweet people, fantastic tasting sandwiches, great cookies and brownies too, fairly reasonable prices for large servings. Security is constantly hanging around so there's no reason to worry about being robbed or having your car broken into, and besides, the area really isn't that bad, so don't let that scare you away from trying out this place. Cons: they don't always open at 7; sometimes they're late and don't open until 8am.

During a visit to Rising Roll Gourmet Cafe at 12140 Greenspoint Dr, Houston, TX 77060, my wife and I encountered a situation that was both disappointing and frustrating. I initially spoke with a gentleman behind the counter, who appeared to be from India, and clearly stated that I wanted the "Pick 2" option for my wife. I specifically asked if the veggie sandwich could be included in this deal. He confirmed that it was possible, so I proceeded to order the veggie sandwich and the tomato basil soup for my wife. After ordering for my wife, I ordered a grain bowl for myself from the same guy and then headed to the counter to pay. The lady at the kiosk, who also seemed to be of Indian descent, didn't know what I had ordered, so I repeated it for her. She didn’t raise any issues at that time, and everything seemed fine until the food was brought out. At this point, she informed me that the veggie sandwich was not included in the "Pick 2" option. When I pointed out that the man who took my order never mentioned this restriction, her response was not only dismissive but also accusatory. Instead of acknowledging the possibility of a mistake, she insisted that there was no way the man could have made an error, even going as far as to imply that I was lying. This blatant refusal to admit a potential oversight, coupled with the man's apparent retreat to avoid addressing the issue, made the entire experience not just unpleasant but also offensive. It’s important to note that this wasn’t about the additional cost, which we would have gladly paid, had there been any indication of professionalism or courtesy. However, the rudeness and outright denial of what had clearly happened left us with no choice but to ask for a refund and leave. We also made it clear that they had lost customers that day, not because of a pricing issue, but because of the way we were treated. In any good business model, customer satisfaction should come first. Allowing the veggie sandwich as part of the "Pick 2" on this occasion would have been a simple gesture of goodwill and a way to ensure repeat business. Instead, their approach was to deny, deflect, and dismiss, which is a sure way to drive customers away. A little humility and a willingness to make things right can go a long way, but unfortunately, that’s not what we found here. Moreover, this encounter had a profound impact on my wife, who suffers from PTSD. The stressful and confrontational nature of the interaction exacerbated her condition, causing emotional distress. The lack of empathy and the dismissive attitude of the staff not only failed to resolve the situation but also contributed to her heightened anxiety. This experience was more than just a poor customer service incident; it was a distressing episode that negatively affected her well-being. Despite all of this, as we were leaving, the lady had the audacity to tell us to "have a nice day." It felt like being punched in the face and then told you're loved. The irony was not lost on us, and it only added to the frustration of an already...

So, I ordered the Asparagus & Basil Wrap. I'm vegan and this is pretty much my only option in this place, however, the wrap comes with a puny amount of asparagus, some cucumbers, tomatoes, basil and....that's pretty much it! No hummus, no avocado and no other veggies. I asked if I could add avocado, hummus and roasted red peppers and I'm informed that that will all be extra; my wrap went from costing $6.99 to upwards of $10. So dissapointing! In a veggie wrap, hummus and other veggies should be included and I understand if it's extra for the avocado but, yeah, again: dissapointed! I gave them three stars because the ladies working here were really nice and the wrap was tasty (with all my add-ons lol). Anyway, I will not be returning until they improve their vegan option and add some sort of protein (beans, legumes, hummus,...

I used this location for catering for a business meeting. The serving size was deceptive. I even asked if it would be enough for the amount of people I was needing lunch for and I was told yes. After seeing that it wasn't enough I had to order more. In the many years I have had to get catering for meetings, I have never had so many complaints regarding the quality of the food. I called and spoke to 3 different people (including managers) and after being persistent I was promised a refund for the second order. Two almost three month later.... Nothing. Mind you we called to reminded Akash, Katie and Stangay on several different occasions to remind them of what they promised and still nothing. I am HIGHLY disappointed in every aspect of this store and would HIGHLY suggest refraining doing...
