The donuts and coffee were not my issue. My issue was with the customer service. I was in the area because I had a morning meeting in the area and happened to get detoured. I saw the Shipley Donuts and decided to stop there before heading home from my meeting. First strike is the lady that took my order. In the morning I expect bright cheery personalities up front at the counter. Second strike is the design of the parking lot. I parked on the side and thought that once I could pull out I'd be able to exit but soon realized that the loop around the building funneled you into the drive thru line which I was not intending to sit in a line after picking my order up from the inside. I proceeded to back up when a car comes rushing around the building to get into the drive thru. Geez why the rush in a parking lot? It could have been bad had I not noticed the idiot driving recklessly. Luckily she slowed down enough and gave me enough room to back up and let her get ahead of me but then I experienced the same issue as 2 more cars came speeding into the drive thru. It took me a while to get out of the parking lot as each car had to slow down and give me space to...
Read moreCalled ahead to make sure it was open, no answer. Still made the 20 minute drive because I reaaaally wanted Shipley Donuts. A lady came to the window asked what I wanted. I asked what was the minimum order of donuts and she looked at me in disgust and said "cash or credit" and I said cash and she said no? I received my order and it was COLD so I asked if I could please get them warmed up, this lady looked at me like I was asking for too much and SNATCHED THE BAG OF DONUTS FROM MY HAND, shut the window, warmed them up and gave them back, shut the window and that was it. This lady must really hate her job, we felt like we were a bother to her. Overall the service was rude, and my donuts were still cold... the one on the east side that's open 24 hr is...
Read moreThis is my neighborhood Shipleys that I grew up going to. Iâve since moved out of town and havenât been here for a while but Iâm in town for work this week and was excited to come back a few times for breakfast while in town. I ended up going 3 times this week lol and the donut holes and kolaches were good each time but I did notice that the service was consistently slow. I went between 9-11am each time I went this week and it took me between 15 - 20 minutes to get through the drive through each time. I donât remember it being this slow in the past. And there was plenty of staff inside each time so it wasnât a staff shortage issue. Iâll always support Shipleys when Iâm home in Houston but some people may be pushed away by...
