The food we got from the Post Oak location turned out to be one of the worst fast food meals I’ve ever experienced. My wife ordered the beef fajita taco plate but they gave her chicken instead. On top of not getting what she ordered, the chicken was dry and tough. It had the consistency of the scraps left over at the end of the day after the good pieces are gone and they don’t want to cook any more.
I ordered the crunchy beef tacos. “Crunchy” is a relative term at this location it seems. The shells were very stale and tough to chew. There was nothing “crunchy” about them. That coupled with the scant fillings makes me think I should have chosen something else.
To top it off, the salsa they gave us was nasty. There’s no other word to describe it. The salsa verde was bland and tasteless. The ranch salsa was literally spoiled. It smelled bad and had lumps of something in it that reminded me of what milk looks like when it goes bad and curdles. It wasn’t fit for human consumption.
I know this isn’t indicative of Taco Cabana as a whole. We have a couple of locations closer to where we live that we visit quite often and we’ve never had an issue like this. They are consistently good which is why I’m so surprised by the experience at the Post Oak location. I know it was getting near the end of the day and all but there is no excuse for what we were given. I’m thinking that if we would have come earlier, everything would have been fine but who knows. Neither of us will ever visit this...
Read moreI don't know why I do it to myself. They say doing the same thing over and again and expecting a different result is INSANITY... Color me crazy because I keep going back. I keep hoping that they will get it right.
But NO!!!
The other day... Food ordered 'To Go' and got home to find part of the order wrong and the other part NOT EVEN THERE!!!
EVERY TIME I TELL YA!!!! EVERY TIME!!!!
And so the next day... Return to the scene of the crime... Order the missing steak fajita cabana bowl from the previous day and wait for it to get made. A steak fajita cabana bowl... Served in 30 seconds... A sloppy nasty mess! Mushy rice with a mound of retried beans, pinch of lettuce, scant sprinkle of cheese, a dollop of sour cream and a schmear of guacamole all glopped together in an apparently new shell. Ohhhh... Don't let me forget the steak fajita meat... About 3 ounces of old chopped and nasty meat sprinkled somewhere in the middle...
In the meantime, 2 quesadillas ordered and it took 30 minutes to melt cheese in tortillas because the "the grill cook just got here"... Apparently nobody else knows how to do that job, including the manager. He said they were so busy with literally 4 short tickets on the screen...?!?!!
Now even more irritating, one of the quesadillas is wrong!!!!
So I used to like the food at Taco Cabana. Flamente chicken was the BEST, then I moved to the cabana bowl... One gone the other now sucks... No need to return...
Two Pesos was better... Wish they didn't lose...
Read moreMy husband and I was there today 06/03/2018 for lunch after church. The cashier was very nice and helpful. The food runner, by the name of Mimi, was very unpleasant. She seemed as though she was mad about something, then wasn't taking care of the dining room like she should. She also was removing trash from the trash can with one glove on one hand and nothing on the other. She then went to deliver someone's food to their table, without washing or using Hand Sanitizer on her hands. She was messing up customers orders, her service was simply horrible. My husband and I reported her to management. She was sent home. On top of that, my husband went to the restroom, he almost fell, due to water on the floor, from an over flowing toilet. They were told by my husband, but when We were leaving, nothing had been done yet. We have been there plenty of times, and never experienced service like we did today. Some of the other staff was very nice and picked...
