Stay away! This is one of the Worst locations in Houston. Like other statements, they could be better but they choose not too. They serve donuts they did not sell the day before and sell them the next day. There is absolutely NO reason for cold nasty gummy donuts around 7am/8am in the morning constantly. They do the least and charge the same prices as their competitors. Do yourself a favor and go to the Ella location. Always hot, no matter the time. This location is on my route in the morning, but my kiddos said today they will pass. Not worth the stop, not worth the donuts, nor the money.
Update: I still consider this location one of the worst in North Houston. I tried going back a couple of times because of the convenience of the location, but my kiddos told me to not bother. It makes NO sense to consistently have cold donuts. They make most of there donuts very early and it just sits out, and they grab from the 8-10 dozen batches they made probably around 4:30-5:00 am. They rarely drop any new donuts in the fryer between the hours of 7am-9am and focus there attention to making kolaches, which are usually warm at least. If you aren’t paying almost $7 for half a dozen glaze, honestly it needs to be hot. There are other locations worth spending your money, but not this one. The line at the Shirley’s on Ella and 34th Monday-Sunday consistently lets you know where fresh donuts are...
Read moreWent to Shirley’s Donuts on N. Shepherd and the lady was extremely rude. Went thru the drive-thru and just ordered 1 glazed donut for my kid. Total was $1.19. As I grabbed a dollar and 2 dimes from my purse I could hear the girls (employees) inside laughing. The lady brought me the donut and simply said “here” and slammed the window shut. Then I sat in the drive thru maybe 15 seconds before taking off and she said “here” again. I held out my hand believing I was going to get the penny she owed me since I paid with a dollar and 2 dimes but she handed me the entirety of what I gave her but this time the dollar was all bunched up in a ball. She again said “here” and proceeded to give me all my money back. I just nodded, took my money back and left with a smile. Free donut 😊.. yet very bad service from a very impolite person. Have no idea why. There was no reason for her to be so rude like that. Not sure what’s going...
Read moreThis was a drive by. I did not make a purchase this time. Today's visit was a purchase. My fiancée was in line forever, being ignored! However, every Spanish person that entered was helped immediately! The manager was rude and nasty and clearly a racist. A shout out to the baker who came from the back after witnessing the abuse. Thank you so much! I am sorry that your boss reprimanded you for being kind and doing the right thing! Don't worry about her because you are a champion in the eyesight of God! I will never go back there. This is 2023 and it is a shame that a Black person would be so ill-treated by a Spanish person in Texas! Shame, shame, shame! Black people beware of this Shipley's! Horrible customer service! This Shipley's should hire extra personnel for early morning business which is brisk! There was a...
