T&T Seafood Market — Restaurant in Houston

Every time I visited this place, I had a surprising experience. Many of the people that come in are kind and friendly, which makes the wait enjoyable. I only have one complaint. When I order fish that needs the scales scraped off, it's not done correctly. A couple of times, I ordered my fish, which was either the Red fish or Drum fish, they were not cleaned of the scales very well. The Red fish one time wasn't cleaned at all. It makes you very mad to get a fish like Red perfectly fried to a golden crispy brown, and when you bite into it, you get a mouth full of scales. It was very heartbreaking. I couldn't return it because I lived 30 minutes from the restaurant. So I took my lost and just peeled off the golden brown skin, which is really the only part most of us like and ate the insides. I have even tried having them just clean and cut it into filets, and I take it home and fry it myself, but when I got it home to fry it myself, still, there's scales on it. So when frequenting this fish place and ordering fish with scales, make sure you tell them to clean it well, or just take it home, clean, and cook it yourself. I called around 4pm to place my order, the man on the phone gave me my number and I let him know I was twenty minutes away. When I get there it was a line, no problem with the line as I saw it was a sign on the window that said pick up orders come to the window. By the time I made it to the window another 20 minutes later I was told they had to send my food back because I took to long to get there. This blew me, this is HORRIBLE customer service. In addition several other customers were complaing about how long their food was taking. The man who was taking the orders informed all of us "that they been in business this long because the food is hot,good and cheap" in a combative tone since everyone was complaining that their food was taking so long. The Shrimp Fried is Awesome, practically the best I ever had in my entire life. The shrimp portions are plentiful, and the shrimps are more than satisfactory in size. I also had their 4pc Fish w/ Fries, and it was cooked to perfection.

If they would accept credit/debit cards, or online orders options to pay ahead that would make things a little better being they only accept cash; five stars would be worthy !!! This is my only reason for giving four stars.

The wait was not long either, but on their busy days make certain to call ahead and place your order to save on time if you are pressed to be elsewhere and trying to grab food in the interim.
