This was my first time here. Me, My daughter, and her cousin who recommended the place. We went after shopping in the mall. We walk in and are told they have to basically check to see if we had the ability to pay for the meal by checking our payment card (Bank or credit card). My daughters cousin has been here before and said she didn't have to do this before. They said new management made this rule just recently. "How recently? Like right now, recently?" Me myself have never heard of such a thing at a restaurant. They said, " we have to run your card for $1 dollar to see if your account is good. REALLY?!?! WHAT THE!! But you know what. If that's the rule. That's the rule. Now the place is cool. Nothing extravagant enough to have to have your payment method verify before partaking of the services. They have a bar, outside seating area, music playing, restrooms were Decent but could have used a little o tension. The atmosphere was a little Monday considering employees Look at you. Don't smile. Don't speak. My server was friendly and informative about the items on the menu. He visited us from time to time to see if we needed anything and was very helpful. Now for this new management we kept hearing about. I don't know. Remember, this is my first time here. Not one of the people in my party's first time. So there was some Discrepancies in The service we were getting now as opposed to when my family member came a few times before. For instance my family member asked for a plastic spoon to use to feed her little child. Like she has done before but this time she was told there was a fee. A fee for plastic ware?!?! Where they do that at?! You have to pay for plastic ware at a Supposed to be fine restaurant? OK. So my family member was like, no, I've never had to pay for that before. Where is the bold headed manager guy that I've met before? The waiter goes to get this Manager. Now I'll say he was very professional (the manager). He explained the reason for having to pay for plastic wear. But I'll say the reason was unfounded and ridiculous. You should not have to pay for plastic ware at a fine restaurant. First of all there was no spoon in the napkin set up. Only a fork and knife. We ordered tea for our drinks. Of course we put sugar in our tea, im from the south, so we would need a way to Stir it. In fact I was stirring my tea with a knife at a fine restaurant. I wasn't paying for plastic ware. The food was ok. Sort of a Cheddars feel versus a Perry's Steak House or Taste Of Houston feel. I did need salt and pepper. Lol. The presentation of the food was pretty good though. It looked very good. I added a picture. The last thing I will mention is. They Automatically take the tip out and don't inform you of this. I tipped the waiter $20, cash in his hand. Only to find out I was charged on my bill $21 of a tip. So that's a $41 dollar tip. For an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe usually go to the Rouxpour with my wife to Katy location which is in Cinco Ranch today. We was in the city center and we decided to stop by at the Rouxpour . We got two drinks and two dozen of fresh oyster. We got all oysters was very quick and then I noticed something smell weird so I called the waitress and I asked her to give it to the chef and tell him that oysters are not fresh at all. They smell like itās that bad really bad ⦠whenever she was picking up the oysters from the table she asked if we need to check which means you guys are ready to leave which was really pissed me off I said yes we need owe check .. we got a check for $33 something cents which really makes me surprised two drinks which is beer and one mixed drink for my wife so I ask her why did they charge tips on them? They said thatās normal but they charge the tips from the main check. I will attach the check and you guys decided which is good or not good we called manager explain everything and he said that oysters was fresh seafood so that kind of things happens which is normal. I understand this is not the first time we eating oysters. We always get oysters at cinco Ranch location, but they never apologize and on the tip they said thatās normal. There is nothing we can do thatās our policy policy is what charging 50% tip on a tap and I donāt mind to deeper I understand which I myself I worked at the restaurant, but I never seen Resturant charging two person gratuity so service of the manager will suck. He hadnāt done nothing. Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my first time at Rouxpour. Terrific service, delicious food, elegant yet comfortable atmosphere and large servings. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch! We split the wedge salad and then we split the shrimp po'boy. I'm always worried the wait staff will turn their nose up at a split meal situation, but even our waitress told us the portions are huge and confirmed we made a good choice. Everything was so good! One thing I was super happy about (because I am so picky about this) was their pepper. They have the fine granules of pepper. I can't stand chunk pepper. Anyway, not that it would make or break a review, but it definitely made me happy. So, the pepper you will see pictures, was my doing. Load it up! The wedge salad was a perfect start, especially on a hot summer day. The waitress was happy to split the salad for us and also adjusted our specific requests. I am not a blue cheese fan, so I requested ranch. Once again, our waitress was exceptionally accommodating and split our po'boy for us. The po'boy was presented on perfectly toasted bread. It was dressed with tomato, shredded lettuce, crunchy shrimp. The tartar was on the side. The it was tangy and added an extra zip to the sandwich. We opted for the sweet potato fries. I typically don't like sweet potato fries, but my friend said they were delicious. She was right. Very good! The Rouxpour is very New Orleans style, but with a more upscale and elegant ambiance. They are located in the Memorial City Mall, which made our walk to the movie at Cinemark nice since we were able to walk through and catch the air conditioning. Houstonians know the heat is unbearable and we will do almost anything to beat the heat. The restaurant choice was initially based on the convenience of parking once for both lunch and the movie. I'm glad we settled on this restaurant. It was fantastic! $48.59 before tip for 2 people (split meals) and 2...
