If you like rude bartenders, then this is the perfect place for you to visit. One of the worst experiences I've ever had. Our bartender showed no remorse and was just extremely rude.
Our bartender first served a group of my friends before getting to me and my brother, and while I was waiting for him to get to me, I didn't appreciate his aggressive tone that seemed to come out of nowhere (Having a bad night? Don't take it out on your customers)
So when he finally got to me and my brother, I talked to him in the same tone that he talked to me and the previous group of customers. He didn't like it one bit so when he asked for my ID, he asked me for my last 4 digits of my Driver's License.
Let me mention that this was on a Thursday night and the bar was COMPLETELY DEAD. None of us are drunk and are still very coherent of the situation. The bartender was obviously trying to find a reason not to serve me. I said I didn't know it and questions the validity of not knowing my DL number. To my defense, it's not a number I remember by heart because it's not commonly used in applications that I fill out. Ask me for my passport, social security, checking account, or routing account numbers and I can regurgitate it with ease. Also, this was my California ID (I just moved back from Los Angeles)
Anyways, I gave him my full address immediately so he can stop questioning the validity of my driver's license. My answer affirmed my identity but he refused to serve me. Instead of trying to diffuse the situation, he continued to add more fuel to the fire by talking back after I tried to reason with him when explaining why I he received an unpleasant tone from me.
Long story short, all 6 of us + me immediately left after he continued to make the situation worst by making offensive comments with an entitled attitude.
To management, this is unacceptable to have this type of employee to work for you and your business. I get it -- it's a bar, and there will always be drunks in the scene that your employees will have to put up with. An employee that reacts defensively instead of responding in an appropriate manner, and an employee cannot display empathy towards a customer is bad...
Read moreI visited the establishment 3/21/2021, and my party and I were not served because a friend was wearing Crocs. Blake, the bartender stated that this was their dress code and it was to be strongly enforced. I asked Blake if he could detail the specifics of the dress code policy and he could not. He stated that "we usually have a doorman here that handles that stuff, but he's not here today". There is no information provided on the website with any dress code information and there are no postings available at the bar for potential customers. It appears that it is left up to each individual staff member to determine what they deem appropriate attire for customers to wear. The dress code should be public knowledge to ensure that everyone is treated equal without bias and inconsistent subjectiveness. I would not recommend this establishment. I received an email from the general manager Kristen stating that Crocs are considered "gang related". ** On March 21st 2021 your dress code policy was not posted at your establishment, it was not available online, and your staff was unable to verbally tell me what the dress code policy included. There are pictures of signs that are posted that only say "dress code policy strictly enforced", with no information on the actual dress policy itself. These are two completely different things . Maybe you just posted that today on August 30th 2021. If so, that is great because customers should be able to have access to it. Your general manager Kristen responded in an email and stated that Crocs are considered "gang related". This email is posted on your Facebook page if you need to view her words verbatim. You should speak with Kristen your general manager & inform her that Crocs are not "gang related" because she is unaware of this. To anyone reading this review, please check out the reviews on their Facebook page. The email from Kristen the general manager where she states that Crocs & loose clothing are considered "gang related" is...
Read moreIf youâre looking for a place where your evening feels like a mini-vacation, Tikilaâs in The Heights is it. From the moment you pull up, the energy sets in: warm lights, tropical dĂ©cor, covered patios, cabanas, swings, and comfy lounge beds that all invite you to slow down. Whether youâre stepping in for an hour or planning to stretch the night out, the space makes that choice feel natural.
The cocktail menu is where Tikilaâs really shines. Theyâve nailed the balance between playful and refined â frozen margaritas, frozen mojitos, tequila-infused tiki blends, fruity yet not overly cloying, fun yet made with care. Every sip feels like it was meant to transport you. Pair that with attentive bartenders who seem to know what vibe youâre after, and you get something truly elevating.
The music, the layout, the indoor/outdoor interplay â itâs all well done. On the patio, you get the cool breeze, the greenery, enough space around you so it doesnât feel cramped. Indoors, thereâs warmth, character, and just enough buzz without overwhelming conversation. Itâs perfect for catching up with friends, celebrating something small, or just treating yourself to a night out.
Even with big crowds, Tikilaâs still delivers. Drinks come in good time, the bartenders and staff push to keep things flowing and make you feel welcome. Yes, it gets lively, sometimes loud â but in that lively way thatâs part of the charm, not a detraction.
Five stars for Tikilaâs â the cocktails, the ambiance, the full night-out feel. If I could live here, Iâd probably...
