Tokyo Joe's Shot Bar - a place where the sun hides, bourbon flows, and dogs catch their breath. Tucked away from the relentless sun, it's our go-to pit stop on our epic odysseys with Lacy Dog. Here, a shot of bourbon on ice is not merely a drink; it's a frozen artifact of sophistication, an adult 'Slurpee' if you will.

Around 6pm, the place has all the hustle and bustle of a library on a Friday night, a lone staff member being the sole sentinel of this libation fortress. The real action, we are told, unfolds later in the evening. The absence of food is a minor inconvenience quickly forgotten when you see the food truck parked like a culinary beacon in the lot outside.

But the pièce de résistance of Tokyo Joe's is undoubtedly its second level. It's an unexpected amusement park, where video game arcades wink at you from every corner. And the claw machine! This isn't your average toy-filled game. Oh no, it's crammed with adult novelties, ensuring you never run out of conversation starters.

Late-night Tokyo Joe's, I wager, must be like stepping into a Wes Anderson movie - quirky, colorful, and full of unexpected surprises. One of these days, we'll stick around to witness the transformation. Until then, the anticipation remains a delightful cocktail, served neat with a splash...

My wife and I have been loyal patrons of Tokyo Joes for the past two years, enjoying its lively atmosphere and decent service. However, recent experiences have left us deeply disappointed and hesitant to return.

The introduction of multiple security guards wearing neck gaiters to obscure their faces is unsettling and gives off a vibe of intimidation rather than safety. During our last visit, these guards went as far as to confront customers over trivial matters like the choice of music, which was completely uncalled for and created a hostile environment.

It's disheartening to witness Tokyo Joes, once a favorite spot, descend into such questionable security practices. The atmosphere has clearly shifted for the worse since these guards were introduced, possibly in response to an incident involving Vince Young. Regardless of the reason, the result is an atmosphere that no longer feels welcoming or safe.

We used to appreciate the lively ambiance and service at Tokyo Joes, but the recent changes have left us reconsidering whether we want to continue patronizing this...

racist af…don’t go here if you don’t want to be racially discriminated. i was with my cousin and once we got in, this guy who works here just stared at him and told him he needed to leave saying that he saw him spit on the ground. i’m the dd and sober and literally was watching him the whole time and know for a fact he did NOT spit on the ground. when i tried to stand up for him the guy said “you can lie if you want but i saw him” but the guy literally looked at him for a few seconds before deciding to kick him out. this happened before as well when my friends cousin who was dark as well was not allowed in as well for the same reason. 🙄 deny it if you want but twice is too much to be a coincidence…even the...
