Big Star Bar — Restaurant in Houston

I go to the bar, they don't have karbach, mostly just sweet cidery sort of beers. Not my thing. If you want a place to drink lone star then this will treat you good on that front.

I went to go pee and Rene the security guy was doing a bump of something, started shouting at me and cursing at me. Judging by some of the other reviews, this is regular behavior for him.

As far as backyard bars go, I'm actually a bit let down on how LITTLE they've done with the backyard. It's really empty and there's Shady Acres just down the street and you'll have a much better experience there. Big Star was cool when there was no competition, but see, there is...

Ah, Big Star bar—the rightful king of dive bars. This is one of my favorite bars in the city. It's got all the charm and atmosphere of a dive without being dirty or rundown. Retro interior touches with neon lights, arcade machines, and an old pool table are great, and the outdoor area in the back is spacious yet cozy.

Don't get me started on how great the prices are. Riddle me this: how did a friend and I go last weekend and have two Johnnie Walker Blacks, four beers, and a shot of whisky for $25? Because Big Star, that's why.

JOSIE IS THE BEST BARTENDER AND SMILE IN THERE!! Love this lowkey place, spent many after parties here and even private dates with my boyfriends because its an all the time great spot. Bring Dolly's Jolene back to the jukebox! if not, its okay, I will always love this place!
