WhataSCREWUP
This is the primary Whataburger location that I frequent. The service is hit or miss. I went yesterday at 2:15pm which typically follows the lunch rush. There was only one car in front of me. I was told to pay at the first window but no one showed up to take my payment. I proceeded to the second window... Something must have gone wrong with the order because I saw the person in the car ahead of me hand back the meal he was given. When he moved forward I proceeded to the window. Issue#1 I was asked if I ordered the Avocado Burger. I said no and expected to then be given the correct order. Issue#2 I was then charged for someone else's meal. I told the young lady at the window that the 2nd order she was trying to give me was also incorrect. She looked upset with me and then got the manager. The manager asked me for my order (mind you this is at the pickup window). I told him what I had originally ordered and he said I would receive a refund for being charged for the incorrect order. (I thought he said my meal would be free but I ended up being charged.) When my drink was handed to me, it was not full, had little ice, and the lid wasn't put on fully. I looked at the receipt before I moved up to see that even after saying Root Beer once at the order booth and twice at the second window, I was charged for an orange soda... As I pulled forward after this 10 minute delay, I noticed the original car in front of me was still sitting in the driveway waiting on his order. The overall experience took well over 20 min. That's not a total surprise with any Whataburger location but there was only one car in front of me at the beginning of this fiasco. When I got home to eat my meal (less than a 10 minute drive down Shepherd), I opened my bag to see the box of fries 3/4 full and the fries were cold and stale.
To add to the previous review: I took a chance and went back on 8/30/23. I waited in the drive thru for nearly 20 minutes. I almost trusted that the order would be correct. When I checked my bag, I saw that they totally screwed up the order. I had to go back in and ask for them to...

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience due to the treatment I witnessed today.
I placed a to-go order inside, and the cashier, Elayna D., was polite and professional. She confirmed my order and everything went smoothly. Since it was storming and people were coming in to dine, I decided to wait at a dirty table rather than take up clean seating meant for dine-in customers.
As I sat briefly, a young employee—who I could tell had special needs, based on my own family experience—came over and kindly offered to clear the table for me. He was very respectful, and I appreciated his initiative and kindness.
Unfortunately, the shift manager at the time, who I believe is named Tabora Boykin, as per the name on my receipt, loudly reprimanded him from across the counter. Her tone was harsh, unprofessional, and deeply inappropriate—she told him this was his “last chance,” which made it sound like he was on thin ice simply for trying to help. What was more upsetting is that after the incident, she continued to speak negatively about him to another employee within earshot of customers, making the entire situation uncomfortable and disheartening.
I want to be clear: this young man did absolutely nothing wrong. If anything, he demonstrated more courtesy and initiative than many employees I’ve encountered elsewhere. I made sure to let the cashier know he had done a good job and that I appreciated his help.
This incident left me very concerned. What I witnessed felt like discrimination against an employee with disabilities. There is no excuse for public humiliation or belittling of any staff member—especially one who is clearly making a sincere effort.
I hope corporate and store management look into this matter seriously. Employees of all abilities deserve to be treated with respect...
Read moreOrdered a milkshake and a separate meal. They called my name for milkshake and left milkshake by soda machine. Then got my food order wrong. All the tables were very dirty. Had to clean my own table to eat. I told one of the workers and he acted like he didn't care and walked away. Manager really needs to do a better job keeping dining area clean and teach workers how to be attentive and pay attention to orders placed by customer. Or get a new manager?
So this is my 2nd review at this location. Restaurant 89. But I would only give location two stars for getting my food correct. The 2 star rating is because of their bad customer service through the drive thu. Cashier on my receipt said Antoinette W. This person was very rude. As I was placing my order over the intercom. I asked for a #1 meal dry. The cashier asked me to repeat my order. I guess they were not paying attention? As I repeated my order I explained to him that I wanted my hamburger dry. No mayo, no ketchup, and no mustard. He then cut me off and said he knows what dry means. I explained to him that I just wanted to make sure he got my order right. So many times I haven't gotten my order wrong through drive thru restaurants. If he was paying attention I would have not have to repeat myself. Also, I could not understand half of what he was saying. Either he needs to speak into the mic, or management needs to fix the speaker. Or both! As I drove up to the window to pick up my food and pay. I told the employee at the window about the cashier. She didn't even apologize or acknowledge my concern. I think this will be my last visit to the particular location. This has got to be the worst Whataburger. I love their food, but this place needs to clean house. Get another manager and please send your employees to Chick-fil-A next door to learn customer service before you hire them! Too many other places to get a good burger without the...
