Boy am I torn on this review. I had to divide my ratings, but at the end of the day it’s a restaurant and the food matters. Ambience: 5 stars. It has a speakeasy vibe. The restaurant is located on the back side of the main buildings on Grand River Ave. Parking is easy and there is a big 2FOGs mural to assist in finding the restaurant. Don’t trust google maps, it’s a little off. Located in the basement of many older buildings, the bar and dining area are all brick with a industrial feel. Drinks and appetizers: again 5 stars. Wow! What a drink menu, there is everything here. There is a drink here for everyone from the bourbon, wine, and scotch connoisseur to the casual beer and cocktails drinker. All the appetizers sounded delicious, we decided on the brochette. It was fresh and filled with all the right flavors. Highly recommend it. Even my wife, who is not fond of tomatos, enjoyed it. Dinner: There are entrees for every palette preference. After much discussion we decided on the Griller Salmon and Honey Citrus Shrimp & Sirloin….this is where we were let down. When the dinner came out everything was lukewarm or room temperature. The sweet potato fries were room temp, the cheese on the loaded mash potatoes wasn’t even melted, the shrimp was cold, and the sirloin (order medium) was extra rare, and the salmon was lukewarm as if it had been sitting for 10+ mins. To her credit, our server took the sirloin back to be re cooked. I don’t thinks it’s much to expect hot food, especially from a restaurant rated as high as 2FOGS. Outside the room temp dinner we enjoyed everything else. We will be back to give it another shot.

Absolutely loved everything about this place, well except the drive to get there, but that's not their fault 😜. We had to go to Howell to pick up a rescue dog to add to our family and saw this as an interesting place and decided to give it a try. I'm very happy we did. No entrance from the front of the building, so park in back. You'll then have the option of stairs on the left, or elevator on the right. We entered by elevator and left by stairs, because we didn't see the stairs as we came around the side of the building from the front. They don't do reservations, but you can call ahead and get on the waiting list if they're currently experiencing a wait. Took advantage of this as we were driving over an hour to get there and only had to wait 10 minutes. Our seating was maybe the only downside of the visit, but that's just because the lighting at our table was quite poor. Other tables seemed to be well lit. Food was nearly perfect, tuna is a must get, such an amazing appetizer. The beef stroganoff was incredibly flavorful and filling, the noodle bowl however was a very small portion compared to everything else and presentation could have been better by simply wiping the edge where the sauce splattered. We liked it so much, we are planning a trip back in July with friends.

My fam had a surprisingly good time at this unusual pub. It was one of the only games in town with outdoor seating, which was the priority for us. There was rain in the forecast, but luckily their outdoor seating including a few tables with big umbrellas, so it worked out great. We just pretended like we were in PDX. The wait staff at 2FOG's was excellent, despite their job being far from easy. I felt bad that our server had to run up and down the stairs between the outdoor seating and the pub downstairs— including in the rain! And the food was fantastic— the best burger I've had in a while. Ma had the wild mushroom chicken and my partners split the pork chop. Don't usually find myself in Howell, but I'd definitely go back to 2FOG if I'm nearby.

I have been a customer at 2Fog’s since it opened and can say that its evolution from speakeasy-style pub to high-end eatery has been astounding. While the food and drinks have always been good, the opening of the new kitchen now allows for a wider variety of eats that appeal to all tastes and budgets. The same can be said of the beers and cocktails. The options are vast, ranging from beverages that can be found in any bar or restaurant with names that easily roll off the tongue when ordering within your average comfort zone, to hard-to-find alcoholic beverages for a unique tasting experience and exclusive, beyond top-shelf drinks for special occasions or for those with highly refined tastes. This is one of the few places I know where a customer can order a draft beer and a glass of $500 port at the same time. 2Fog’s clearly strives to offer an exclusive, yet comfortable dining experience that is appropriate for any occasion: family dining, girls’/guys’ night, romantic meals, and business entertaining (I don’t ever do any of the latter, but with the exclusive liquors offered, this is definitely a place that impresses!). The owners are highly visible to the customers and pride themselves in addressing compliments/criticisms personally. The food itself is top-notch. The portions are not over-sized (this is not your neighborhood Applebee’s, don’t expect those type of proportions and prices) but are filling, and while I clearly have my favourites, I have yet to be disappointed in anything I have ordered. Though I miss the days of the cozy sofas and the Sunday Bloody Mary bar, I am thrilled to see that this place has been thriving enough to necessitate an expansion and the replacing of sofas with more tables. Just a couple tips: 1. This is not your average dive. Don’t come here expecting to get dollar PBR’s. It is upscale dining, drinking, and service, expect to pay for that. 2. If you are planning to come on a weekend evening and have a large party, try calling ahead. The wait can be a bit lengthy during peak times- the staff understand that this is not always enjoyable for customers and are happy to try to make you more comfortable, including taking cocktail orders while you wait. 3. If there is a parfait desert with some sort of liquor on it available, save room and get it. I guarantee it will be worth it. The bread pudding is...

This is my favorite bar in the Brighton/Howell area. The food is great, and their cocktail selection is otherworldly. I'm a bit of a whiskey fanatic, and they have the longest list of available whiskeys/bourbons I've seen outside of Kentucky. You could try something new every time you're in here, and go through half the selection in a year. It's impressive, and it's great to be able to have that opportunity to taste so many varieties in one spot. The atmosphere makes it an old-school, sort of speakeasy type bar, which is awesome for me. It's perfectly lit (not bright, not dark) and the furnishings and old looking rock walls make it feel cosy without being too much of a dive. I've had dinner a couple times here, too, and the food is always fantastic. The Ahi Tuna is my favorite, and they sure know how to prepare it perfectly. I've always been quickly greeted by someone when I walk in the door, and overall the service has been fantastic. Even when they are busy with a long line, they find time to make sure everyone is taken care of, and when I spent a while waiting to get a table, one of the owners (who was serving as the host for that night) was getting drinks for myself and my guest while we stood in the waiting area. Service is a high priority, and they do a great job to make sure all of their patrons are happy. For a bar that's more cocktail-centric, they also have a good selection of microbrews available. Some are local, some aren't, but most of their beer list aren't your typical Bud/Coors options, which I can appreciate. This is a little more upscale of a place than people may expect if they haven't been here before. The prices are reflective of that. The entrees can run in the $20+ range, which I think is pretty typical of a place of this caliber. Cocktail prices are reasonable considering the liquor selection. Fantastic bar. Whenever I have friends visit from out of town and they want to go to a good local bar, I take them here. Wonderful to have something like...

My husband and I tried 2Fogs for the first time last night and I have a lot to say!

Everything exceeded our expectations, so I'll start and proceed in the order of our experience. We were greeted by the friendliest young man and taken to our table. First impressions are everything and he nailed it! Wish I caught his name. The atmosphere: It's in a basement but don't let this deter you! It's SO cozy and inviting! Exactly what I look for in a restaurant. There's nothing worse than sitting down to enjoy a nice meal and feeling overwhelmed and overstimulated. I felt I could truly relax here and it was just what I needed after a long day. OUR SERVER, SARAH! What a gem she is! Warm and friendly, attentive and a fun sense of humor. We loved her! She really was the icing on the cake for our experience. 2Fogs, please praise her for a job well done! The food!! Oh my, THE FOOD!! So delcious! We started with the ahi tuna and french onion soup. I also ordered a side salad with the warm bacon vinegarette. Let me just me tell you that a simple, fresh salad turned 5 star with this dressing. I was googling recipes to figure out how to make it before I left the restaurant! 😆 For our entrees, I ordered the bourbon chicken with loaded mashed potatoes and my husband ordered the tuskers burger, also with loaded mashed potatoes. Everything was so flavorful, cooked to perfection, with a clean presentation. Whoever cooks this food CARES! We were far too stuffed to order dessert, which is a good thing! Portions were generous! We can't wait to try the skillet cookie on our next visit.

We left this restaurant truly satisfied from start to finish and that's hard to come by these days! Thank you to the owners and staff of 2Fogs for a wonderful dining experience! You made our day! We can't wait to...
