Update: I really want to like this place but the lack of consistency and listening of the employees is a bit disappointing. Came in today to ask for a bagel (which was wonderful last time) asked for extra toasted. I get a giant box (out of boxes) toaster broken so they grilled it, and it makes the bagels soggy? I think the last girl put it in the oven wrapped it nicely and cut it. Today is was just floppy and chewy, not what I asked for and not well communicated. The second time I came I asked for a 16 oz hot matcha, they donât do that, itâs only iced, but doesnât say that anywhere. The next time I came I ordered an iced matcha and the employee didnât know how to make it, she remade it to hot and it still wasnât great and was just a lump of matcha. I think Iâll just stick to hot coffee or a latte for now. Employees need more training.
Please donât grill bagels, they never come out good. If you arenât going to toast or cook right why offer it on the menu and charge more than anywhere else in Dayton? I mean $5 for a bagel w/ cream cheese should be good, as the bagels are artisan and really good.
Also they work really slow here if there a line expect 10-15 minutes to get anything besides a coffee.
Just moved here this week and discovered this place. My new go to. The employees are also really friendly. To anyone leaving negative comments about prices (below). Itâs 2023, they have a business to run. Things arenât free, and Costs all around have gone up. If you get out of Dayton youâll see how much more expensive things can be, and that itâs not that bad. Highly recommend to...
Read moreIâm writing to share a disappointing experience I had at your establishment on May 10, 2025, around 11:45 AM. My fiancĂ©e and I walked in with the intention of ordering two iced coffees. At the time, there was only one customer at the bar, who appeared to be deliberating over a beer selection.
Despite our presence being clearly visible, the bartender did not acknowledge us at any point. After approximately five minutes, another woman entered the restaurant and explained she had returned to pay for her order. I kindly allowed her to go ahead of us. The bartender served her and then resumed assisting the original patronâstill without offering so much as a greeting or a simple, âIâll be right with you.â
After standing there unacknowledged for several more minutes, my fiancĂ©e and I decided to leave. What makes this experience particularly disheartening is that Iâve dined here often and have never encountered such a lack of basic courtesy. As a Black-owned business in Huber Heightsâwhere such establishments are few and far betweenâI had always appreciated your presence in the community. Unfortunately, this experience left such a negative impression that I no longer feel comfortable returning.
It takes very little effort to acknowledge customers and manage expectations with a brief, polite interaction. Sadly, that basic level of customer service was entirely absent during our visit.
While I did not catch the bartenderâs name, I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used as an opportunity to reinforce the importance of hospitality and...
Read moreToday my mom and I went in the morning and no one was at the cashier counter and I figured we can wait a bit maybe they didnât see, then 2 workers came out, one female one male, the female worker seemed like she was new but the male worker lazily walked across to the other side of the counter passing right in front of us, without acknowledging our presence, forget saying âIâll be right with you,â he didnât even look at us, and then he went back in the kitchen and left us there. Mom and I literally left and went to a coffee shop that was a little farther away (Pettibone Coffee at Woodman) but the workers were MUCH kinder. We felt more welcome there.
Iâm leaving 1 start only because this has to be mentioned and brought to attention. I donât know if that is how he treats all customers or because my mom is covered and he was discriminating. Either way, we didnât feel welcome.
Another time I had asked a female cashier if our coffee could come with our food and she annoyingly and hesitantly said yes and when the food came she made our coffee with little effort, in a messy way, and wasnât kind when giving it to us. She had an attitude the whole time.
The other times I went they were really kind but it wasnât these workers. The food and drinks are also really tasty. I only wanted to bring attention to this because I live in Huber and have been excited to have a cute coffee shop nearby but I donât want to go here anymore due to these 2 incidents. I was going to give it a 1 star but out of respect to the workers who were kind to me I...
