Prior to our trip to Hudson, we researched many restaurants and found this place. We stopped in on September 27th for Dinner and left thinking we would have been more comfortable somewhere else. Let me give you the pros and cons.
PROS: The food was delicious and portions generous. We ordered a half order of the Nachos as our appetizer because we had heard they were bountiful and they were. We also planned on sharing an entree and so ordered the Fish Tacos as well as two Agave Margaritas. The food was delicious and the Margarita was unique and delicious.
CONS: I had read a review prior to our visit that was posted four months ago and the gentleman had criticized the table he was seated at - A two seater hi top near the restrooms. The owner stated in his response that he would address this. I had no fear of my wife and I getting the dreaded restroom table because I figured with all the comments about what a great guy the owner is that it would have indeed been addressed. It hadn't been and lo and behold that was where my wife and I were seated. It was a Friday night and they were quite busy and we are not the type to speak up in a situation like that because we know the servers are busy enough. I understand in the restaurant business real estate is everything, but it is a table that should be eliminated. We decided to make the best of it and so while enjoying our Nachos we discussed the idea that there would be no way they would be so non-sensical as to bring our entree before we finished the appetizer because there would simply be no room for it. Sure enough, half way through our Nachos the entree shows up. It was placed on the edge of the table for us partially hanging off the edge and the server asked ''is there anything else I can get you?'' I half-heartedly said ''more space?'' her response was to shove the remainder of the plate further onto the table forcing our appetizer and drinks against the wall. WOW. We found ourselves kinda stressed and rushed through our evening out, leaving much of the food on the table, just to get out of the uncomfortableness.
With what looks to be so many great dining options in Downtown Hudson, we will...

Visited Sunday September 29 with my husband. He ordered nachos, I ordered the pork belly. I didn't finish my pork belly app & he barely finished the nachos.
This was the last meal we had until the following day aside from drinking fluids. My husband also did not take any kind of medication on this day or the following day. The following day after using the restroom, he noticed in his sto0l a small, white, round object floating. Concerned, he fished it out & examined it. It appeared to be a pill with some kind of white substance in it.
Of course he poked & prodded at it to examine it so it's misshaped now. It's slightly smaller than a dime.
I attempted to call Agave & speak to a kitchen manager yesterday, & they were out for the day. I called again today at 1124 hours-spoke to Ali who said she'd contact me back during lunch rush. No call back yet.
Not saying anything nefarious is happening at Agave, however, whatever ended up in the nachos & then in my husband's system is questionable.
We want the restaurant to be aware that something may have contaminated the food whether accidental or hopefully not *purposefully.
Photo of questionable substance/object has been uploaded. Looks like a tooth or a corn kernel at this point after the poking & prodding.
*Paul & Chef Goss contacted us & have been actively helping in getting to the bottom of this. Thank you both for taking the time to look into this, however, I don't believe it's corn.
Update 10/3/2024:
Wish my husband took a photo of the object in its original state after expelling it, as he states it was round like an M&M.
I wish I were there with him when he handed it off to Goss, so I could take half a sample & bring it into the lab at my workplace.
The conclusion from Agave is that the object is corn-which, there is corn in the *sweet corn & black bean salsa in the nachos.
Though we failed to get photographic evidence that this object was round before my husband squished it around during his own investigation, corn is not spherical/round as he described or that firm...
Read more7/23/23: Well I’m kind of bummed. I went to Agave today and had their chicken chimichanga and when I got it, it tasted like pork. I verified with the server it was chicken and not pork and she verified it was chicken and said they got new chicken so it might taste different. I let her know it tastes an awful lot like the pork. She never asked me if I liked it or not. I had maybe 3 bites out of my chimichanga and that’s it. It was not good. The server never asked me once how the food was or if I liked it, although I think it was pretty obvious. The server asked if I wanted a box and I told her no. I would’ve thought that she maybe would’ve asked if there was something wrong with it but she didn’t. I’m so bummed because the chicken chimichanga was my favorite and it just doesn’t taste good anymore.
Ask anyone who knows me what my favorite restaurant is and they will without hesitation tell you it’s Agave Kitchen. In the last year I had challenged myself to go eat by myself for the first and the place I thought I’d feel most comfortable was Agave and I was 1,000% right. I sat at the bar on the main level and the bartender was so friendly and made me feel so welcomed. I actually told her it was my first time eating at a restaurant by myself and she couldn’t have made my experience any better! She was absolutely incredible, I wish I remembered her name. Agave Kitchen has the most genuinely kind, caring, and friendly staff that I have ever experienced. Their staff alone is why I love going there however their food is amazing as well. Thank you to the staff at Agave Kitchen for making my first “out of comfort zone” experience a really positive one. Also, if anyone is looking for a luscious, delectable, juicy, flavorful, tasteful in every which way, chimichanga, look no further! Agave has HANDS DOWN the BEST chimi I have ever had in my entire life!! Seriously! Go give it a try! You won’t be...
