Pizza King — Restaurant in Hudson

We had dinner here tonight for the first time and when I walked in, I wanted to walk right back out but was convinced otherwise. Let’s start by saying that this is a pizza place, counter service and then seat yourself. The seat yourself part is where I had trouble because every table was dirty. Not sure why the owner or staff thinks dirty tables are okay and not once did someone come out to wipe down a table. No spray or paper towels anywhere to be found either- okay I will deal and use a napkin from the dirty napkin holder on the table. Two minutes in you start looking around a little more in detail you see all the dead bugs, windows haven’t been cleaned, and the floor was pretty dirty. The other issue was the temperature, it had to be 65 degrees with cold air blowing down on you. I am a big guy and love ac but it was cold in there and I don’t think moving to another table would help as the place had 6-7 tables. I realize the same ac keeps the owner and staff cool behind the counter where the ovens are but your focus should be on the comfort of the customer. I think a regular visit from the Hudson board of health is needed.

Delivery is always prompt and the drivers are friendly. Tonight I had a small pizza with spinach, tomato, and peppers and it was amazing!

Updated 10-13-23 I ordered and put in the wrong address. I was off by a digit and had the correct unit number. The driver went to the building I had accidentally given him and kept ringing the bell which annoyed the occupant. I got a call explaining my error and I immediately went outside to the front of my building to wait. I waited for a bit and got another call. The driver had come from the back of the building and was ringing the buzzer. Of course I didn’t hear it because I was trying to save him some trouble by waiting outside. When we finally connected he was absolutely gracious and did not seem the least bit annoyed that my mistake had wasted so much of his time. I tipped with my debit card when I ordered and I gave him the cash I had when he arrived. My mistake caused him additional time and effort and he was as...

Jalapeño poppers were phenomenal! Geek salad was fresh and BIG! We got a large King Supreme Gourmet Pizza and large King Steak Gourmet Pizza. The ingredients were fresh and VERY plentiful, making the price of a large extremely worth it. (In fact, the King Supreme may be underpriced!)

The crust was good at the edge, making it evident that the dough was fresh… the only issue was the too-soft dough under the main part of the pizza, indicating that the dough should have been cooked a bit before adding the rest of the pizza toppings — or that the oven temp was too low.

Tomorrow when we reheat the pizza, I expect that the under-crust will fully cook through and will crispen up a bit, making it perfect! I’ll give Pizza King another try in a few months to see if the undercooked crust...
