2-15-2020 Update- A last min decision, relatively late on a traditionally overly busy weekend.... We tempted fate again and... Everything was World Class from the moment we walked in the door until we left. Chris the owner had asked that we call prior to our next visit and due to this being last min we opted not to call. We also, maybe subconsciously wanted this to be a "normal visit". The host was welcoming and helpful (again considering this is Valentine's weekend and they were very full). After a short wait they sat us in the bar (our request and it is first come first served seating). From this point on drinks, food and service were truly 5 star. After dinner I texted Chris (One of the owners who gave me his cell number after the initial review) that we were there and had an amazing experience. To my surprise Chris almost immediately called me back to thank us for trying Rosewood grill again and was thankful for the feedback and appreciated our business. I can honestly say that Chris (would assume the rest the owners too) truly appreciates his customers and deeply cares about your experience. Thank you! Update- Within hours the owner reached out to me and asked me to call for additional information on our experience. I called Chris back and we had a very good conversation. I truly appreciate an owner that demonstrates that type of integrity and the pride for his establishment and team. He did not rush to blame anyone or anything, he just vowed that they strive for perfection and do not always hits the marks they set out to hit and will work to make things better! After several years I opted to "touch the hot stove again"... With Hope's that this evening would be better than my last, we sat down for a meal and everything started out just fine, drinks were served, specials were discussed. I asked if they had any dairy free option to the Walleye special. The waiter was unsure and would check (he forgot to ask). Upon ordering I asked for the Special dairy free if possible, he went back to check. Walleye on rice and brussel sprouts, Perfect! Between our order and our meals I witnessed what seemed to the manager walking from table to table asking how things were, I was impressed. Maybe they have finally started providing the experience that matches their food and prices. Our meals swoop in from a runner and mine is covered with the aioli that contains dairy. Told my wife to please go ahead with hers and I would flag down the waiter. Once I flagged him down he apologized and said he assumed that the kitchen knew he was speaking of my dish when he put in the order. My wife was nearly finished with her meal and the manager was finally coming with mine. She delivers the meal and says "please enjoy". Not I am sorry, not may I get you another drink mrs. while your husband eats his meal alone like you just did... At this point I am curious how this lack of experience would be handled once the check was delivered. No consideration whatsoever... Stove still HOT and I touched the darn thing again, shame on me!!!

This was our 5th visit to Rosewood. We live in Detroit though I am from Chagrin Falls and husband is from West Branch. We were in town for an event at Hiram and planned to have dinner here to round out our weekend. I didn’t call for reservations until late and so accepted one for 8:45. We arrived just after 7, thinking we’d sit at the bar and to our surprise we were seated right away. I enjoyed the Chicken Anna, hubs had the 16 oz Delmonico special and we ended with the absolutely sublime and velvet crème brûlée. Both entrees were perfectly prepared and delicious. Rosewood does everything right. The staff ensures that you have everything you need without being intrusive. The old stone walls and plush fabrics create a cozy environment and, while you are close to your neighbors, you just don’t notice anyone but at your table. We are thrilled to see that RG survived the pandemic and we look eagerly forward to our next visit!

I’m saddened to say we returned after being away on vacation to find many of the staff gone and the food and service are not the same. For whatever took place over the last couple months I hope you beg the previous staff back. We waited way too long for a drink poorly made and left sitting while someone came in sat down and got drinks while ours sat. We were seated at our usual spots in the bar so we could see exactly where the problems were. James the usual manager was nowhere, our usual bartenders absent. Kitchen staff, unsure who was chief because he was running food out to the bar didn’t use his time well. Seems someone was standing by to coach him on how dishes should look. We waited almost 25 min for burrata which isn’t even cooked. It was finally presented after we asked if the order was actually placed and waited another 20 min. Female bartender got snippy and rude making me wait for her to even begin my next drink order because I complained about my husbands drink. She remade it only admitting it had a large ice cube which was wrong but the whole drink was awful. Because I complained she clearly wasn’t wanting to serve us then began pouring on the sweetness which is so transparent. I don’t often make bad reviews but we won’t be back to Rosewood anytime soon. I will be checking with locals to see if you make any improvements. Very sad because we praised and recommend this restaurant over and over previously. We left without ordering dinner because the food quality is terrible and service is definitely not the least bit apologetic when they know things aren’t the same. We had come in here weekly for months and I’m sure others have as well. I implore you to get in there and keep one of our previously favorite restaurants from imploding on itself! With that all said I can’t blame the bartender, Matt. He is obviously new, tried his best but that gal working with him has a bad attitude. We heard her empathizing with Matt as he recounted having been spoken to about some short comings. This is terrible. If she wants the restaurant to succeed she shouldn’t have been negatively commenting about his being talked to about his performance. He’s obviously got to learn what’s expected. She, whatever her name is should be spoken to. We were dinning at the bar the evening of 11/28/25. I sincerely hope you accept this...

My first experience at Rosewood left a lot to be desired. They were out of the Steak Cut I specifically went there to order. After looking the menu over again, the waiter then told us about the specials. I settled on a three course prix fix meal of a Caesar salad petit filet, asparagus, mashed potatoes, sautéed shrimp and seasonal ice cream. My wife chose a chicken and pasta meal and an appetizer. The food arrived and the presentation was exactly what you would expect for this type of restaurant. Once we began eating, however, things took a turn for the worse. My wife took a bite and made a strange face and began stirring her pasta dish around. After another two bites, she asked me to taste it. The pasta was under cooked, the chicken was completely flavorless and appeared to be rib or thigh meat and not breast meat. My Steak was ordered medium well and came out medium rare in that it was bright pink throughout and had a blood red center. My asparagus was barely warm and undercooked. It had the crunch of vegetables on a relish tray. And then my shrimp were tough and rubbery. The cherry on top was the lack of a cherry…..never received any ice cream when I offered my plate to the waiter. Although he was very friendly, he made no comments or inquiries as to why two almost complete meals were being left on their plates to be tossed. Especially evident was my bleeding medium well steak staring him in the face. The final negative for me was that when my wife finished filling out the check I noticed we were charged full price for the special I reluctantly ordered and barely ate. The waiter had moved on to other tables, so I spoke to the hostess about the pricing. She confirmed that the meal should have been $10 less due to the time of day and Day of the week, but made no offer to correct the error. At this point I left dumbfounded. On a normal day I would have sent my plate back and or asked to speak to a manager. This, however, was my 20th anniversary dinner and we just decided to go eat elsewhere….Positives about the restaurant: environment is very nice, people were friendly yet inexperienced in providing the level of customer service a restaurant like this needs. Well over...
