So I'm a huge fan of ordering from various restaurants during this covid pandemic to try and help businesses. I usually order from the TC Landos in Acton but they do not use GrubHub. So I ordered from Hudson. Food is usually good. So one of the things we ordered was a Greek Wrap minus the Black Olives. One person has an allergy with them. So when the order came it was full of Black Olives. So I called to let them know about the order. The person who answered started to write down what I originally asked for. I said that my family was quarantined because of Covid and I was not able to come get it. I am a Fire Fighter and attracted the Virus at work. He said well we can't deliver to you for anything under $20. I said I didn't make the mistake. I'm not looking to order more food. he said hold on. Came back and said yeah my manager said yeah we can't deliver for anything under $20. You can call GrubHub and have them deliver for less. I said yeah but then I will have to pay for it again. He said yeah there is nothing I can do about it. I said but you made the mistake. I should not have to pay for it. He said again nothing we can do. So what did I get from this? TC Lando's in Hudson ( Not Acton) doesn't care if they make a mistake. They will not do what is right to fix it. They could have easily said ok we made a mistake and will bring you a new one, which in my opinion would have been the right thing to do. ( Other restaurants have done that) Not one person even said sorry for the mistake Lucky the person didn't take a bite before they checked or the conversation would have been a lot different. They probable don't care but I will no longer be going there or ordering from them again. Next time do the right...
Read moreI started going to landos in Acton when i worked in west acton center over 20 years ago. I moved to stow 16 years ago and was thrilled that i could get the budster on the regular. And as my kids grew up...my daughter and i would share the budster...and now she gets her own. But never again. Over the past 2 years this place has nose dived. Somehow there are twice as many people behind the counter and they are slower than ever. Sometimes i get a budster with fresh bacon...tender chicken the right amount of sauce and cheese. But its become more and more rare. More often its rubber bacon, dried out chicken, sauce and cheese barely there and a bun squished down. A few weeks back i said..one more chance and my daughter and walked in...ordered and ate there. No wrapping to mess up the sub. It took 30 minutes to get 2 subs. Both buns looked like tbey had been stepped on and couldnt even cover the chicken which was dried and crunchy. The bacon...was rubbery and shoved to one side of the sub. Cheese was non existent and the bbq sause was spread on the roll under the chicken rather than all over it. Sad. Clearly the staff is just there for the check. Noone in there actually takes pride in the product. Ill give the acton location another shot because last i knew the owners still spent time there. Maybe they sold the business? EDIT 2: My buddy ordered takeout recently and I tried some of the chicken cutlet sub he got, quality somehow took ANOTHER dive and the service when I picked up the order was poor. I am not exactly a rude person and I've worked in restaurants before so I know it's a tough job. Also, why am I being prompted to tip on a takeout order?
EDIT: man what happened to this place. I have had multiple poor experiences in the last year, where before I would consider this one of my favorite casual restaurants.
First, the burritos shrink substantially (like almost half of their former size pre-pandemic) and prices go up, fine whatever sign of the times. Next time I go in I get a bone in my budster sub, things happen. I go in again a few weeks later and receive a MOAB with poorly cut chicken (tendon and gristle), gross. Now today, I try to call in and give them another shot because, up until just now, I LOVED this place. While I am on the road I try to order ahead and legit NO ONE answers the phone, I called several times over the course of a half hour; I understand people are busy but this is ridiculous.
