Food was freshly prepared, fish was crispy & not over oily. The lady working the drive thru ( I believe she held a management position) was very friendly, respectful, courteous & proficient. She checked & double checked to make sure the order was correct before handing the bags to me. She also made sure that I had the condiments that I asked for. In the past, I've had to wait in line at other fast food restaurants a whole lot longer for just a single person order than I did at Capt D's on this particular night when ordering for my husband, my daughter & myself. Fast food restaurants have been receiving some bad reviews lately due to not having enough employees to fill positions whether it stems from a lack of pay or lack of work ethic or both. But on this night, those Capt D's employees were working their butts off with the inside line having several people waiting to order & the cars in drive thru being lined up around the building. However, I cannot mention a single complaint with the service, the quality of food received or the amount of time taken to place and receive the order. Not sure what Capt D's is doing any differently than a few of the other fast food restaurants in the Hueytown area but those other restaurants sure could benefit from knowing Capt D's secret to hiring competent...
Read moreUpdate ...Don't do drugs!! ... Update a year later, I dropped the 3 to a 1 star. The back line attitude caused my order to be wrong, tiny fish sticks... Back line was smoking pot last time and this time. Couldn't be bothered to do their job and be drug free. Does nobody do drug tests anymore? They would not give me my receipt back.
I used to say five stars. However, ever since the manager moved to a higher position, this store has not been that great. Just "normal."... if you call standard transactional service normal.
What I mean by that, is too often, you as a customer aren't seen as a person, or even as a number. You aren't even a shadow of a number sometimes. In this case, the cashier's attitude is usually "I'll never see you ever again, why should I care?"
That is what is wrong with many fast food restaurants.... Again, it used to be 5 stars. It will remain 3 or lower, until the attitude, culture is changed. This is clearly a hiring practices issue, because Chick-fil-A can manage to have its people be nice... Why can't...
Read moreI went through the drive -thru, I spent $19 for two people and the portions were so small. The catfish didn't look right, and the okra was severely undercooked. Once I looked in the boxes I ended up having to go back inside and let the staff know of the issue. The cook was notified and he came from the back to the front. He proceeds to ask what the problem was which I explained the above. He said that the okra is how he always cooks it because he doesn't want it overcooked and too crunchy with no regard to the okras appearance which screamed undone. I also mentioned the fish, and he offered to cook another piece and the okra. Once he returned both looked almost identical to what I already had in the boxes. I digressed, and got a refund back for the catfish dinner. It wasn't worth the money or the time I spent in the drive thru or on the inside fighting about it. Next time I'm looking for fish, I will look into other food establishment. This food trip was a waste of...
