The best restaurant in Hueytown, hands down. Whether you get the tamales, chicken sandwich, hamburger, wings, Philly steak (with a Chipotle ranch sauce instead of cheese normally, it is fantastic), Polish dog, or anything else you're in for a treat. The prices are great, comparable (and beating some) fast food prices while being miles ahead in quality. On top of that you have friendly staff and a great location, making it perfect for eating in or getting to go.
The orders do take a little longer to get (if you don't call them in beforehand) than fast food, but it's an extra minute or two.
The only downside is deciding what you want. There's a few sides, and if you get fries you can have them seasoned (my favorites are the Cajun ranch and chili cheese, though the chili cheese fries can be too much food depending on your order). And if you get wings, well, there are about 10 sauces and a couple rubs. And on top of that, you can combine sauces or get some wings with different sauces.
I do think the wings are the best thing they have (and they've won an award for them). Boneless or bone in, they're fantastic. Simple staple sauces like BBQ, hot (ranging from mild to a challenge sauce that is hotter and tastier than the blazing wing challenge at another restaurant), and honey mustard to less seen things like parmesan garlic, chipotle ranch, lemon pepper, and teriyaki. That's not all of them, but it'll give you an idea. Some of them are avaliable as dry rubs as well, if you don't want a sauce to deal with. And some of them, I think, are better with the rub like the...
Read moreStopped in to grab a tamale from a place that has tamale in its business name, thinking okay they specialize in this. Should be pretty good. Wrong. The tamales only come in beef which is already suspicious enough. They look like like a large boiled peanut that has been boiled for a week. All mush and approximately 3 bites per tamale. I’m thinking D’s French Fries or D’s Wings would be more of an appropriate name. Don’t bother going...
Read moreGreat food, really decent pricing for the amount of food that you get. Their Philly Chz Steak Sandwiches are AMAZ-ING. Never a long wait although they are usually busy. The owner is very friendly. It is a Family ran business. I believe it may be the owners' daughters that work the register. They also have a location in Birmingham, Al (5 points I believe) that his wife runs.( Or so I've...
