The service and the cleanliness at Huddle House in Hueytown, Alabama has been questionable lately, but today 6/10/2024 around 3PM, the service was extra crappy. As usual when I go in to the restaurant the staff are huddled at the table at the front of the store, They did not acknowledge me which is usual for the staff. We seated ourselves and a young black girl came to take our orders after a few minutes. She brought our drinks once she took the orders and that was the last we saw of her until much later. My sister's order was not correct but there was no around that we could tell this to. My sister said she thinks that is our food in the pickup window and it had been sitting there several minutes. Several more minutes later the cook comes from the back and hands us our food. He was pleasant. I was waiting on my food to come out before I ordered my coffee but no one was around to ask for the coffee and I did not want to disturb the cook. We ordered sandwiches and hashbrowns. We did not get to eat the hashbrowns because we had no silverware. Just as we were finishing our sandwiches our waitress finally appeared. She asked if everything was okay and I told her no. I told her she did not offer refills, did not make sure our order was correct and that she did not give us silverware. Waitress said she had left the premises to go get change and I told her she should have let us know or had someone else to cover her while she was out. ALL of the other staff stayed at the front booth with the exception of the cook. Waitress walked off and started talking to the patrons at the other table. Still no refills and no silverware. At this point we are ready to pay our bill and leave. I asked the young waitress to bring me the machine so I could pay for my food. ( I paid because I did eat the sandwich) She brought it to me and as I was going through the motions of paying, (this is unbelievable to me), the waitress brought the silverware. She slid it on the table while she was standing in back of me. No lie!! I could barely hold my tongue as I walked towards the door. The cook at one point asked her to do her work and she snapped at him asking who was he talking to and he reminded her that the cook is in charge when there is no other manager there. Waitress responds by saying " you are not in charge of me." and continued to say some other things as I was walking out. There is this one waitress, Claudia, who makes everything run smoothly when she is there, She greets you with a smile and sometimes a hug every time but unfortunately Claudia was on her way out because her...
Read moreMy food was good...now to the juicy part: unbelievable service and efficiency. Everyone is pleasant. Very clean in the restaurant. Not a long wait at all, I may have waited 10 minutes for my burger and fries(with all its exceptions and additions). Management is very present here. They not only manage, but they seem to have a great rapport with the staff. Kinda in a good cop bad cop kinda way, but both are respected just the same by all of the team members. Management show that they are never to be to busy to greet a customer, wipe a counter, or prepare a dish if needed...there was a moment when a woman, who seemed to be a member of Management, was doing a walk through with a new employee. She noticed that something wasn't being done to the restaurant's expectations, used that as a teaching moment and reminded the staff of how things should operate, and corrected the issue. (Bad cop). All awhile a man, who appeared to be a upper level manager (good cop), continued to help the staff with other things that needed attention while laughing and talking with them. Both people very respectful to the staff and also respected by the staff. To my understanding, this place hasn't been open that long but it already has that "Cheers" kind of feeling-"where everybody knows your name". From Management to the cooks to the waitress to the hostess- they all seem to enjoy working here and with each other. AND THAT MAKES ME WANT TO COME HERE EVERYDAY. EVEN IF ITS JUST FOR A CUP OF COFFEE. I hope they continue this way. So many restaurants start out great and end up yhe total opposite of how they began. They definitely have the juice to do it. Im...
Read moreThis place doesnt deserve 1 star. Place was filthy. Food was disgusting. We waited 40 minutes for drinks and there were like 5 people there. They were out of burgers, wings and etc. Ordered the wing sampler, didn't have wings after I ordered it 20 minutes prior to being told, so I agreed to chicken tenders. I had 2 hard tenders that I could throw through a wall. Only got 3 jalapeño poppers that were deep freaking fried and the picture shows more of them and of light color. The pickles we got 4 and almost broke my tooth because they were fried so hard. The French fries were cold. I asked for cheese ony chicken sandwich. The cook comes to table and slaps 2 slices of cheese on the sandwiches which the toast was hard. I asked for mashed potatoes but got French fries. Never got my sauce. We couldn't eat. We got up and walked off. The staff was dressed poorly and it was a hot mess. Stay away from this Huddle House because it's a freaking disaster. I mean the employees can't handle their job and complained and whined like babies. If I wanted to hear whining I would've went to a darn daycare or called a Georgia or Seminole fan. Management should be punished for allowing the staff to dress that way and this staff should never be left unattended because they can't handle their shift. They kept pulling up their pants and not changing gloves and some not wearing rhem at all. I wouldn't recommend anything. Go to Waffle House across the street. Plus I took photos of the food and menu. I will be contacting their cooperate office because this place...
