So this is my 3rd visit to High Tide. The 1st time was with out of state friends. The service was slow and confused. Prices were high but the drinks were good. Nice patio across from beach. So I came back again for takeout - they were supper friendly and nice. I ordered the fish tacos. Got them home and they were tiny just two open faced mini tortillas with a sprig of lettuce and cabbage and a tiny piece (half a fish stick) of haddock. Super spicy. No rice or anything. My son would have eaten it in literally 2 bites. $20. So I’m not going to order that again! A month or later I thought - let me give them another chance. I’ll order a salad. So I ordered the shrimp salad and a bowl of chowder takeout-$30 before tip. The “bowl” of clam chowder was a small paper takeout cup of creamy salt water with 3 potatoes and half an onion and zero clams. 99% broth and completely unedible it was so salty. $12. The shrimp salad was a small handful of field greens, cherry tomatoes (not on menu), hot mushy cannelloni beans, and 9 (decent sized) shrimp. No warm corn salad, avocado or cilantro dressing, as described. The “grilled shrimp” was rubbery and had zero seasoning. Tasted like a rubber chicken. The salad had NO flavor at all. Unappetizing. I really want to like this place bc the location and menu sound great, but the food continues to disappoint - especially at these high prices. Don’t get...
Read moreAfter a marginal experience during my first visit, I decided to give this restaurant a second chance before leaving a review. Unfortunately, my follow-up visit confirmed that my initial impression was not a one-off.
Both visits took place on quiet Saturday evenings between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m., yet the service was among the most inattentive I’ve encountered in many years. On each occasion, my dining partners and I had our orders taken, but that seemed to be the extent of our servers’ involvement. There were no check-ins about our meals, no inquiries about drinks, and no follow-up of any kind. Both times we had to flag someone down just to get basic service.
The food was also disappointing. Dishes leaned heavily on seasoning to the point of being unpleasant. In particular, the southwest bowl had such an odd, overpowering spice that three-quarters of it went uneaten. Overall, the food struck me as mediocre at best.
Adding to the frustration, both visits featured a solo acoustic guitarist. While the musician was competent, the volume was so high that even seated at the back of the room, we struggled to hold a conversation.
In short, after two attempts, I found consistently poor service, underwhelming food, and a dining atmosphere too loud for comfort.

Read moreI went there on 9/22/2021. I was hoping to grab a seat at the bar , as I was solo. Was told that there was a 20 minute wait. Also told nothing was available inside. After 10 minutes I was glad to be able to get a seat. But it was outside on the patio. Told the hostess I preferred inside seating at the bar. Didn’t matter to her. I ordered a drink from the cocktail menu which said the price was $12. I then wanted to order the Irish spring rolls. Of which I have had there in the past. ( delicious) But was told you have to be inside to get them. 🙄 wasn’t happy. Went with the haddock tacos. Not bad, but very skimpy on the haddock , 1 measly piece of fish. I then ordered 1 more drink.
Was dissatisfied with the small portion of fish in the taco. And the drink seemed watered down.
Got my bill , ! $58.00 to my surprise!
All I had was 2 drinks and a fish taco.
They charged me $15.00 per drink !!!! Equaled $30.00 for 2 drinks !!
Such a rip-off!
I could buy a handle of Tito’s for that price “!!
Won’t be...
