Just one block from the Huntington Beach Pier, there’s a hidden gem of a bar + restaurant upstairs called 2nd Floor Gallery Bar & Grill. The place has an artsy vibe and, even better, weekday Happy Hour specials that would make your wallet and belly happy.
Here’s the lowdown on their weekday deals (as of March 2025 when I visited and plz double-check their website before you go): • Mon: $20 All-You-Can-Eat AYCE Prime Ribs • Tue: $15 All-You-Can-Eat Taco • Wed: BOGO Burgers • Thu: $15 All-You-Can-Eat Pasta • Fri: $20 All-You-Can-Eat Fish & Chips
My husband and I were wandering Huntington Beach on a Monday afternoon and happened to stumble across this $20 Ayce Prime Ribs deal and decided to give it a try.
You can take the stairs on the right or the elevator on the left to get to the second floor. We got there at 4:05pm (they start the specials at 4pm), and there was already a line. The place filled up fast, but since we didn’t mind sitting at the bar, the server brought us right over.
Server came by to take drink orders first and asked if we were here for the Monday rib special. My husband was all in, but I don’t eat beef so I tried to order the pizza. However, the staff responded “Sorry, we’re swamped with ribs today, you gotta pick something else.” Fair. So I ended up going with the Fish & Chips plate.
So how were the $20 unlimited ribs? Honestly, we went in with low expectations, but my husband said the quality was pretty fair for the price and note If you’re after premium steakhouse-level meat, this isn’t it. Props to the servers too, they were super generous. As soon as my husband was almost done with Round 1, they offered him more. He went three rounds total, and the portions were huge. Best part? You can take the leftovers to-go. Big win.
My Fish & Chips plate was $24 which is more expensive than the AYCE ribs. (Note: Friday they offer the same fish & chips deal for $20 unlimited.) Taste-wise, it was average. Honestly, I preferred the ones I had at Alaskan Fish & Chips (cheaper and better flavor). Also I got a non-alcoholic Bloody Mary for $9. Not bad for beachside pricing.
No time limit on the AYCE, and they’ve got balcony seating plus occasional live music in the evenings. Chill vibe, solid service (Jamie was super attentive) . I would say it was a fun hangout spot for anyone who loves bar food and buffet-style deals.

Read moreLooks maybe deceiving! As a first timer it seemed well, it was farmers market night. Did the all u can eat taco Tuesday special. Asked about what fountain soda products they had. Told why don't u see the menu. Waited 20 mins for a dish with 6 tortillas that were cold! Went to this heating buffet style table, was told by waitress if there's nothing there let the cook know well get something out to you. Went to serve ourself. Hardly any food left in them. Took what was possible, walked out & into cigarette smoke. Sat down to cold stale red rice and beans. The beans were cold inside and out. No flavor. The meats were not good and old and cold!! Appetizer was 30 mins in and never came out. The absolute worst part is the waitress said you can go walk and talk to the cook he'll make you more. As if this is aunt Linda's back yard BBQ and it's self service! Never in my adult life have I experienced this such poor service. With absolutely horrendous mexican food in Southern California on the beach I've ever encountered in my life! When saying how we are not liking the food and why then the waitress said, if u want to complain about the food, go to the cook yourself. Took our business up the road, to an authentic Mexican food restaurant, was treated with kindness and hospitality. Maybe yall should learn from dos amigos Mexican cantina, on what hot, fresh food with flavor tastes like with amazing hospitality!! The food safety department should be looking into your food practices as food should be at specific temperatures when siting on a buffet! Maybe the cook can keep tabs on the needs of services before it gets this bad. Staff needs training they are absolutely oblivious to what customer service is & how to fix these type of problems. Its clear this establishment needs a Gordon...

After we sat, we ordered our food and drinks. Appetizers came out, and they were great. Then they changed waiters from the Female to the Male and everything went down hill from there. We had told the waiter that we were all on separate tabs but he just wrote our meals down everything on a piece of paper with no splitting of orders. We still haven't gotten silverware or napkins by this time. We wait about 30 minutes for our food and during that time, not once did the server come over and ask if we wanted another drink, or how we were doing, or if we needed anything. Dinner finally comes out and they serve 10/12 of us with the other two thinking thier meals would come but about 10 minutes pass and they are still not served. We ask about thier meals and they said that they served those plates to another table on accident, they said they would cook the meals and it would be on the house. 15 minutes go by and still no meals. We decide to just ask for our tab so we can leave. When the server came with our Tab it was just one bill. So we ask if it can be split to the groups. The server asked us to write on the recipre who had what. We did that and gave the waiter ours cards, he goes and runs them and completely screws it up. Not one person's tab was correct and it took him about 30 minutes to figure it out and about three trips back to us to ask us about the tab . Overall horrible...
