Sugar Shack Cafe is just outstanding! First of all, I called a few weeks before our visit to Huntington Beach to find out about gluten-free or gluten-friendly options and they were very helpful. When we finally did visit, our first visit was excellent and our second visit was even better! It was pretty busy yesterday and our server, Julia, handled it smoothly and was very friendly and helpful, an excellent server. This morning we had the pleasure of being served by (I think the owner/manager Ryan), who was warm and welcoming and friendly. Really made us feel comfortable. And his wife (I don’t think we got her name, sadly) took over service this morning and she was awesome, too. Very friendly, welcoming, and great with the coffee refills and everything else. The food was EXCELLENT. I know, you might be thinking how excited can you get about breakfast, but it was great. Coffee was delicious, bacon was crispy, eggs were fluffy, hash browns were particularly good - crispy, not the least bit greasy, just great! And the eggs Benedict (day two, this morning) were out of this world! First of all, I’ve almost never had an eggs Benedict dish come out hot, in any restaurant, ever, but here it came out hot! And the Hollandaise was great, not too lemony, smooth as silk; the ham was tasty, too! Nice English muffin too. Just the perfect eggs Benedict. PLUS - and a BIG plus for my wife and me - it’s open at 6 AM! And I love the ambiance with the surf photos on the walls, and it’s small but comfortable inside. And you CAN eat outside if you want. To me, this is the exact kind of breakfast experience you want, and I’m happy to support this business and highly recommend it to others!

Hello there! On day three of our trip to California, we decided to head to Huntington Beach for the day. We really enjoy Huntington Beach and it was only a 30 minute drive from our hotel in Anaheim. The beach is great and the local shops are fun to browse and the even the neighborhoods are nice to take a stroll through. Of course, we wanted to eat, something my husband and I do well, and often, especially on trips. As we walked Main Street to make our decision of where we would eat, we decided on Sugar Shack Cafe at 213 Main Street, Huntington Beach, CA. Since it was breakfast, not that it matters, my husband opted for the Spanish Omelet and I had the Kepper's Benedict. We both agreed that the Keeper's was better than the Spanish Omelet. The sauce that was on the omelet was not that great. It tasted and looked like a watery tomato juice. Even the flavor of the omelet was not that great. We sat outside and enjoyed watching people pass by as we ate. The service was there, the hostess and waitress were nice and the atmosphere was great. Being from Tucson, we are not fans of sitting outside to eat - the heat is a little much but in Huntington Bach sitting outside was enjoyable with the breeze and the temperature. All in all it was good. Just a little disappointing in the omelet. Little flavor and some watery sauce.

Staff here is great. Food is hearty, as a good surfer needs. Lol. We love the back covered patio, which has a separate waiting list from the front patio waiting list. They have a small interior space, too. The food was great. I had the Half Keppler (15.95), which is one Eggs Benedict with scrambled egg, tomato, bacon, avocado and Hollandaise sauce. You can also get a Whole ($18), which has 2 of them. Either comes with hash browns or you can substitute fresh fruit for a $2 upcharge. Prices went from $9 to $18 in 8 years, which seems high but is probably in line with other places. Others at our table enjoyed French Toast (which looked yummy), and various egg/bacon/toast plates. The pile of bacon was huge on my partner’s plate! As to the interior, there is one restroom. It’s a single large room. The tables in the back patio are a bit wonky, can be tippy. And the covers looked dirty so we asked for them to be re-cleaned, but it turns out they are just stained black plastic. The colorful murals on the walls are wonderful for the surf vibe.

Eating here was always a good experience. Not once was I ever disappointed. It is true that if you come here late that you will be waiting quite a while just to eat, however if you come early like we do all the time you’ll get in no problem, maybe a five minute wait. Literally the way is the only negative thing I can think about this place. I remember spending so many important occasions in California here at this very spot and I think the staff and the owner for each and every time coming here have been a wonderful experience. I even had my first coffee here. Although that was many years ago it still maintains the same quality as that first time I ate here. And the location is impeccable. It is right next to the ocean. You could feel it and you could just smell the lively atmosphere along with the great food that comes with it. When the food comes out it tastes like it was made By Gordon Ramsay, no joke. I think if Gordon Ramsay came here he would actually be wanting to ask for their recipes. That's how good it is. Overall I give this place five out of five stars not just for the good experiences and times I had here as a kid. But for the food 🥘 definitely worth a visit. Due to the breakfast tasting like one of a kind and something that you cannot find anywhere else other than this store. Also for the good service and polite staff that will start off your morning just right Huntington Beach California the best Oceanside beach in the...

YOU'RE in HB BABY! Can you really complain? Even the internet trolls with their bad attitude and natural ability to be sour fails at this joint. Instead, they find themselves marinating in misery because they can't find anything at the Sugar Shack to run their fingers about. Instead, they only find a great menu, food that matches, and a service that makes them wish they could ask their server if they cleaned homes. Ok, fine! So you need at least one thing to bi#%h about. Complain about the name dangit! Look around, ya! Observe! Ain't nobody in the entire 100 square miles on anything remotely in the category of sugar. You're misnamed SUGAR SHACK, so take this complaint with a grain of salt. That's right, it's on the table as well. This review was brought to you by an individual who is fully aware of their surroundings and a sound mind that displays daily the ability to be of assistance to millions. Don't thank me, just thank the Lord because dependable advice is a sasquatch no-a-days. You can't find it even though ya heard of it. And lookie here. I was born with a unique set of skills that allows me to give back, because the government ain't already giving out enough. My advice ranges from as little as the ole beach metal detector sweeper guy to as much as rocket science and brain surgery. So use me, abuse me. I'm smart, just ask me. "So go oan, eat ya meal, cuz this is all ya...
