I am absolutely so upset with this place. This is the second time we have not been treated accordingly by the establishment. On Saturday, March 2nd we had friends come in from Anaheim. They arrived downtown before us so they picked 25°, with what had happened to me last time I would’ve never went back .But thee were already seated and had ordered a drink so we met them there About 3:45- 4 PM. We all ordered food, . We also split the chili so we could all have a small cup and we ordered an appetizer and half fries half onion rings . At about 6:45 they left and some other friends joined us since there was a small musician/band playing we stayed to listen to the music at about 9 PM 930 I was informed by the bartender that we were cut off, mind you we are almost 50 years old and locals to HB. I wasn’t aware of this until I went up to buy the singer a beer that is when the bartender informed me that we were not to be served anymore. I said why ? and he said my manager Noah said that you have been here all day and haven’t eaten (I did not see n Noah there during the day when we ate ) I said actually we’ve been here since four and we ate over $100 worth of just food between four of us which isn’t hard to do there. They said you cannot just keep hanging out here drinking without eating. I explained again that we had already eaten. At that point I was so upset. I said we will leave, there was about eight of us at this point, and I said I will happily go give our money to another establishment downtown, any of them could use it. Even the man that was singing confused as we were leaving he said “we will see you all around somewhere soon” thanked us for supporting him, and he shook his head in disbelief. Noah was rude unprofessional, and did not have his facts straight before he decided to cut off that many people. I will not be going back to this place , I would advise anyone in town to choose somewhere else. I honestly can’t even remember if ever there has been a time I’ve been cut off at a bar/restaurant. It was...
Read moreHubby and I went here for the special 5 course Valentines Day dinner and I'm just guessing because we never been here before that this was maybe their first time doing something like this. It wasn't packed which was shocking based on all the reviews and how much they advertised the event in advance on Instagram.
Any way there was a disconnect between the dining staff and kitchen. Normally when there is a drink pairing menu the courses arrive gradually in accordance to your pace or the server keeps aware of your pace/checks in with you- but we couldn't finish/savor the drinks fast enough between courses and I received the main course when I was still finishing the previous. The jus on the main course was cold by the time I got to it! The dessert was underwhelming which I felt like should've been the grand finale it was just a pile of dessert in a dish (literally pile of smashed cold cake w/pineapple tidbits and ice cream). The best thing about the dessert was the drink pairing- was the warmth of the bourbon supposed to compensate for the chilly deconstructed pineapple upside down cake? If it weren't for the canned pineapples I would say so but I think not.
The serving staff was just dropping plates off at the table while we were still eating and there's one course where the drink menu branches off and gives two options to choose from but they just brought out their best guess without asking.
$400+ later we felt like we were at a order to table buffet in vegas where they just keep bringing you food when you don't need it. Really disappointed especially in the cost because we could've went to Mortons or Ruths for the same but at least wouldn't have felt rushed and be able to enjoy the ambiance and the food would've been warm. I don't doubt the hard work that went into the dishes (AND drinks) they were all very flavorful, the music was nice but the execution fell flat. On its face. On...
Read moreMy wife and went here about a year ago. The place was packed but we had heard about the place online and expected it to be busy on a Saturday night so we waited the half hour to 45 minutes wait until a table left and then we sat down. The place is really cool, low lighting, fun bar/restaurant feel and if you're an Angels or Ducks fan you'll fit in right at home here. The adult shakes are really good and so are the burgers and locally brewed beer selections.
The couple seated next to us arrived 15 minutes after us, ordered 10 minutes after that and were served about 15 minutes before us. We thought maybe our food was just took longer to cook so we didn't mind. The waiter serving us, came to us and apologized profusely saying "there's been a terrible accident." Apparently two of the waiters collided, one going into the kitchen and the other coming out and our entrees and appetizers were on the tray coming out and wound up on the floor. They made our orders again and 15 minutes later we were served. The waiter comped one of our entrees, one of our drinks and our appetizer so our meal was essentially half off.
The waiter was extremely kind and for how busy the place was the wait was reasonable both for being seated and for being served. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend this place for the experience, ambience/mood, great food, great service and great alcoholic shakes. Even if the food had not been comped I would still recommend the experience, the drinks and the food to...
