Castaneda's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Huntington Beach

Got carnitas fries... no half order available so what I planned on being a late night snack ended up costing me 30+$ after drinks and the near17$ charge for fries:( also got the rice pudding and churro both were underwhelming and borderline garbage the churro was stale and old and too hard to eat enjoyably and the rice pudding was a very small portion and was extremely watery and lacked any flavor which in no way justifies the close to 4$, maybe more, price tag. I was extremely disappointed as I love Mexican food and always try to eat at smaller less corporate restaraunts/chains inorder to support local/small/independently owned businesses how ever like I said b4 I feel like my money was not well spent. On the positive side the horchata was on point and the fries did all get gobbled up and were filling and we'll portiond. I will probably give them another shot as I don't believe any business should be written off over one negative experience next time I'll probably avoid deserts and try some more reasonabley...

I've never really liked leaving good nor bad reviews but this time but I think after the same thing more than once then I will. Their food is ok but also not worth the cost but their customer service sucks, every time I'm at the drive thru, I start placing my order and they cut me off so quick like if they're in a hurry when there's no one inside or in drive thru. I placed my order and had to pull up to finish asking for my drinks. I asked them the they should be a little more patient cuz they have me less than a minute to place my order. Well the girl and lady heard me and didn't care and just ignored me but i was nice. So I asked who was the manager and it turned out to be the lady that ignored me. Her name she said was Sandra. Great Food! lackluster service service from the girl behind the counter. She did not seem to want to be there, barely said 5 words.

5/26/22 service is Much better. Have been back several times. It is my go Chilaquiles spot. Price on point, tastes great.
