Fisherman’s Table Yamasaki! (Meant to post under Paul Gorman but posted on my wife’s account somehow)
Just in case you haven’t been there for a while or not at all, here is a recap of our visit during the Super Bowl this afternoon/evening.
We have been here many times and Fisherman’s Table Yamasaki never disappoints. Tonight we had the honor of meeting the owner/chef and his lovely wife. With his family fishing history of 200 years, I know he is committed to the very best. I don’t pretend to be an expert though I know quality.
We brought my son with us tonight and his expression when having scallop nigiri delighted Chef Kazuma Yamasaki.
We love their Fisherman Karaage which is a very unique style …Yamasaki fish and chips … and one of our go to dishes on every visit. Beyond that tonight we ordered the Premium Dinner Set, a Yamasaki Dinner set, and sweet shrimp.
The fish melts in your mouth and is unlike any sashimi/sushi I have ever tried in the best possible way. You won’t find all the crazy cut rolls and sauces, though you will find all of their in house made sauces and soy sauce a perfect match for their fish. Sake, beer and sodas are available.
We enjoyed talking with Chef Kazuma Yamasaki and acknowledged the distinctive freshness, varieties and quality of their fish. In speaking with his wife, Fumi Yamasaki, she shared a picture of their lovely family.
The final delightful surprise of our meal was chocolate covered strawberries made by their daughter.
Check out their hours and I highly recommend giving their amazing restaurant a try or a revisit. Perhaps tonight is the night after...
Read moreWow, wow, wow! I've been meaning to come to this place, and I finally got the chance to go for my birthday. My bestie and I both ordered the Yamasaki Set. It was truly worth every penny! During our meal, I texted my husband that "we had to come back, so he can have the same experience that I did." It was THAT good. Our set starts off with the seafood salad (came with little white fishies, scallops, and salmon sashimi, 5 pc sashimi (smoked albacore, halibut, tuna, kanpachi, and ankimo), 3 piece nigiri (salmon, hotate, and yellowtail), 1 toro handroll, another 3 piece nigiri (mackerel, blue fin tuna, amberjack), miso soup (one of the better miso soups I've ever had since it was more rich), 1 blue crab handroll, then finish with a otoro and uni nigiri. I'm sure some pieces tend to change, but this is what we received. OMG! This was all that I wanted for my birthday. Everything was truly amazing! I'm already thinking about going back asap! The ambiance was lovely. Our service was even better. There's free parking in the plaza. Thank you again, Fisherman's Table Yamasaki for a memorable birthday dinner. One...
Read moreTook hubby out for a rare date night after getting stars aligned with childcare, and although fish overall was good, given I was pregnant I had to opt for cooked options and was pretty disappointed. The tempura shrimp came out maybe 2 hrs in and was soggy... seems like they served my husband his yamasaki omakase and Igot my salad on time but then got one of the three hand rolls I ordered, and at the very end got my shrimp tempura but after they came by and asked if we still wanted it. The salad had minimal dressing and I had to substitute with ginger and soy sauce. The person who took the order saw us each ordering but somehow they kept forgetting what we ordered, forgot our drink order, and for the sake pairing didn't know what fish was supposed to be paired with which sake... They were nice and offered to comp dessert but time was ticking and we had to go... Everything just seemed very out of order and I just sat there half the time waiting for my food. I am curious about the sushi when I can eat it again, but highly disappointed with the service and the non sushi items. Won't likely...
