Oscar Cafe — Restaurant in Huntington Beach

It was my first time to Oscar's and when I was checking out the big variety of American and Mexican food on the menu, he recommended one of the specials of the day ... Pork Ribs in a special mild sauce, beans, rice, and tortillas. I think it also included a soda for $13.95. Are you kidding me? $13.95 in HB? It tasted like the ribs had been simmering in this sauce all day and they were fabulous. I don't usually eat the rice, but I just piled it in the extra sauce and it was so good. I went mid-afternoon and Oscar was a one man act doing everything, but he said his wife works there too. Oscar only opened his cafe a year ago and is working very hard to make great food, at a super reasonable price and have people try his cafe. I know it's difficult to try new restaurants, especially because we "fear" we might not like it and we're going to "waste" our money but don't pass on this restaurant. Take my recommendation and give it a try. My family and i have been here several times ,the food is amazing and so are their prices. Oscar and his wife make a great team, We have tried the Asada breakfast burrito, the healthy omelet, tacos governador, birria, and one of our favorite Carnitas torta. Chilaquiles were delicious with a perfectly over easy egg on top. The bacon was thick, easy to chew and delicious. Coffee was always hot and refilled. The cost was great for the food!
