So my partner saw this place on social media and she wanted to visit it. I hesitated at first because there's never parking in the day and in the night you have to park far from the place.
But we decided to and there we were. Next to a guy who seemed like a manager named Carlos. He was nice to us and welcoming, but I was put off my him chastising what seemed to be like a lady cook from the back since she had black latex gloves. It seems like he was micromanaging and lecturing her on something that happened once and then later on again near the stairs. I felt this was unprofessional and it made us uncomfortable. Leave this stuff for closure or in a hidden space.
On to the food, the mediocre tasting food. I ordered two tripa tacos and I'm not a tripa expert, but they tasted like crispy charcoal Ashe. Even with the bland salsa (I tried 3) and a lot of lemon the flavor of Ashe wouldn't go away. Ashe or burnt however you wanna call it.
I ordered 1 adobada taco and the adobada had no flavor. Even with lemon or their bland salsas. My guess is their salsas are too watered down hence the no flavor.
I ordered 1 prime ribeye taco as the grand finale. The tripa was under a "premium" category, adobada regular and rib eye was under "prime" so I expected primetaste. I got pretty average or "regular taste." It was the most edible taco. At almost 8 dollars it is not worth it though.
I do give them credit for their hip looking menu, and some of their other items which I probably won't be back for. Also the customer service was good besides the Manager Carlos just "managering" a little to hard. Like we get it bro, you manage but let people work and trust that they are going to do their job effectively. You don't need to be such a presence. Be a little more subtle.
Feel free to try the place. I mean in my picture the tacos look good.
Have a nice rest of the day and...
Read moreTried this taco spot for the first time. I ordered ahead for pickup, but when I showed up 20+ minutes later, my food still wasn’t ready. That's okay it happens even though there were not many people, but there were a lot of workers. Too bad that the food itself was the real disappointment and it didn’t sit well with my stomach either
The meat on the papa loca was ground so fine it was barely there, mostly fatty nerves and chewy skin with zero flavor. The cilantro and onions were left outside along with everything else you can put on your dish, but the setup looked very unkept. Also she said that they do put the sauces inside but when the pick up is done by uber and other services alike. The plate was nothing like the ad photos or videos I had seen. They show cream, but mine came without. If they’re storing it out in the open, that’s a major food safety concern.
Worst of all, after eating my stomach started hurting and I felt nauseous and just when I thought I had gotten over the experience then came the explosive D. Also, management should tell their employees that if they are coughing very often they should step away. I mean it was the cashier, but she is the one that gets the drinks, so still.
I am more mad at myself for ignoring all these red flags, there was more things I saw while I was waiting. I even thought about just leaving, but I had already paid. So the real lesson here is to listen...
Read moreCame here for the first time and ordered the arrachera burrito with cheese and guac, also the tacos. I gotta say those were delicious! The meats tasted fresh off the grill and the edges of meat were crispy just how I like it. They have a salsa bar there, but I feel it's nothing special about the sauces. Coming from a Mexican taco lover, I definitely recommend you coming here to try! The tiny complaint I do have is that if your going to eat there they have waiters. I don't see why anyone would need waiters for tacos. The girls kept coming and checking if everything was good, I appreciate that and all but no one wants to keep getting checked on while eating tacos and teeth probably full of cilantro. They probably just want tips but I feel they are not needed. Other than that you should check it...
