Tam's Burgers — Restaurant in Huntington Park

Purchased on 02/06/2015 at around 8:30-9:15pm. I've been going to this location for years, since I went to high school next door, and it was no secret that some of the workers there are intoxicated during the job but today it was beyond obvious and the customer service was appalling, Im glad to say today was my last day going there.

I get there with my girlfriend and the cashier asks us what we want to order, I tell him two regular burgers before he quickly interrupts me and asks if I want two sodas with that, he points at the different soda options, I said no thanks. I continued and said I would like large fries with the order, seconds later he asks again if we want sodas, or a beverage, or water, with our order and he starts pointing at the refrigerator next to him, at the soda options, then at the menu, keep in mind that he is talking 100mph and kept interrupting us after every other word throughtout our entire conversation. I tell him, no, I just want the burgers and fries. He totals up the charge and repeats the order and says "two hamburger specials, large fries, and two sodas". I look at him in disbelief and told him I never ordered hamburger specials. I look at my girlfriend and she looks back at me and we can just tell this guy is under the influence of something, he interrupts us again and attempts to guess the order and is wrong, so for the fourth time my girlfriend tells him two hamburgers and large fries, thats it. The cashier then grunts at us as if its our fault he cant function correctly and fixes the order. He then begins to stare me down and I look back at him intently to show him im not hiding and Im ready to hear if he has anything to say to me, they finish our order and he calls our number, I take my time to get up my seat to grab my order, he looks irritated for some reason, I then approach the counter and decide to open the bag and look inside to make sure the order is right since the cashiers incompetent. To my surprise, the order is correct and so we left. It was the most uncomfortable experience I ever had there, plain stupid.

It was obvious the cashier was on cocaine, its been apparent since I went to high school next door that a few workers consumed during job hours, it was never a secret, but today there is no shame. I think the owner should drug test the staff, I'm sure it will be confirmed, then again he can just look at his staff's behavior and see the signs but the owner probably doesnt care himself, the business is a reflection of his management after all. The good thing is that there is a happy ending to this story, there is a better place, notice that tams recently renovated their restaurant? well its because they are trying to copy this place...

I recommend everyone go to BOULEVARD BURGERS on Florence Ave. They have better service, better food, and its made when you order it, forget tams, toms, tims, whatever that garbage...

ALERT! ALERT! ALERT!I never do negative reviews but this one deserves it! because of: a) service.- if they like the person you get a fair service(it should not be like that) it a business; your first contact which is the cashier has an attitude(this is afternoon shift). b) prices.- are a bit high compared to like other burger places! $ 10.00 for a combo of burger, soda and fries; fries were fresh and hot but its always a but lots of salt my mistake I should have had ask "skip the salt" I received my food at a decent time but the lady grabbed my burger which was setting on the counter upside down out of the tray !! can you believe it? plus it was cold and still kept my mouth shut! so why was it cold if I only waited about 3 minutes think about it! My stomach still hurts this happened on tuesday 10/20/2015 about 2 pm three long days "AT ABOUT 3:30 PM MY STOMACH STARTED BLOATING I COULD NOT HAVE DINNER, I DID NOT HAVE BREAKFAST NEXT MORNING; I FELT TIRED THE REST OF THE DAY AND THE NEXT DAY! I FEEL MY GUTS LIKE A BALLON STILL (THIS IS CALLED FOOD POISONING) We must watch what we eat and take care of ourselves because government and businesses do not care! this was about the location on Slauson...

Been coming here for YEARS. This review is specifically for the guy at the drive thru window. The guy who had been gone for a while and more recently came back. You were so rude today. We had never had bad service and you’re always really nice. Today you DID NOT repeat the order back and I’ve never had issues so I just handed my card over and you charged it. Then a girl came to the window and confused asked 2(item)? And we said no only one. And you come over angry and say “I repeated it back to you” super annoyed. I didn’t say anything in the moment because I through maybe he did, he usually does and maybe I just didn’t catch it this time. Well good thing I have a dash camera.
