I attended the grand opening of PJ’s Coffee, and I have to say, the event itself was really well done. There was a festive atmosphere, a great turnout, and it was nice to see the neighborhood come together to support a new local business. The company even handed out some cool swag, and the employees were friendly, welcoming, and clearly working hard to keep up with the rush — which I really appreciated.
That said, the coffee itself left me pretty disappointed. I ordered their recommended Frozen Bananas Foster, but it tasted like 50% ice, 40% whipped cream, and only 10% actual banana foster flavor. It was nowhere near as rich and flavorful as I expected, especially as a signature drink. To make matters worse, I waited half an hour for it, which really heightened my disappointment once I finally took that first sip.
I also tried their hot coffee, and unfortunately, it was just… blah. Honestly, I’ve brewed better coffee at home.
On a positive note, I love that PJ’s recognizes veterans with a discount, something a lot of other coffee shops don’t do. That’s a big plus in my book and shows that they value the military community.
I’m hoping the lackluster drinks were just due to the hectic pace of the grand opening. I genuinely want to like PJ’s and support this location because the staff and atmosphere are great. So, I plan to give them another try in the future — fingers crossed the next visit is more about great coffee and less about a...
Read moreFor shame! We waited over 30 minutes for an iced cold brew with a splash of milk, and a citrus tea! Drinks that are sitting ready in gallons behind the counter of any coffee shop just couldn’t be prepared here, it seemed. Several people were waiting well over 20 minutes for simple items, many had arrived after us and were served first. Even those poor souls were unsatisfied, nearly everyone served while we waited had an issue with their order! Simple things were messed up, leading to orders having to be remade (repeatedly, the same mistakes in a row). One barista was offering everyone a free cold foam top, another employee refused to add a splash of cream unless the customer had paid for it. Madness! I finally had to confront a barista and ask if it took 30 minutes to pour tea into a cup. Unable to respond in any helpful way, they got me my order with the most disgraceful coupon I’ve seen yet. A free medium muffin… with purchase! Unless I want to pass my life waiting in a coffee shop for a single drink, I’ll pass! This store needs to be shut down and all the employees retrained. They clearly don’t know what they’re doing, and were utterly unable to handle even the most...
Read moreWe love coffee and were excited to try this place, but unfortunately, the coffee didn’t quite meet our expectations. It tasted quite bitter, likely due to being brewed too hot. We had a cappuccino without syrup to really taste the coffee itself, and it just wasn’t as smooth or flavorful as we had hoped.
Also, we prefer enjoying coffee in real cups, but once again, it was only served in paper cups, which takes away from the experience a bit.
On the positive side, the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. It's a cozy spot, and we can see the potential — just hoping for improvements in the coffee quality and...
