The food is wonderful and when we had a mess up with our order the General Manager was kind enough to replace the meal for us. The only thing that soured it was when we went to pick up our replacement, Shannon and the girl who was working up front with her were very rude. Shannon made the entire experience extremely uncomfortable to the point where my wife refuses to return.
Aside from glowering at us as we explained we were here for a replacement, she had my personal cell phone in her hand to review the exact email sent and somehow still didn't get all of it, as the manager also offered a cookie and additional drink for the mistakes. The girl who was working with her that night barely spoke to us and wouldn't even look at me as I thanked her for preparing our drinks. When my wife asked about the replacement brookie with our initial order, they said curtly they were out of brookies with no mention of apology for the inconvenience whatsoever.
I'll stop before this gets too long, but I've worked in customer service for over 5 years. I've managed for most of those and trained as well. Due to this, I'm usually extremely patient when it comes to mistakes in orders and the occasional lackadaisical service as I understand everybody has bad days. But the food thrown haphazardly in the bag, no apologies for the initial mistake on our order, no welcome in, etc. were such baseline mistakes that it's borderline egregious when combined with the behavior of the staff that night. The food is delicious, fresh, and a really good deal, especially in a pandemic. But when you're so rude to my wife that she doesn't wanna return because she was embarrassed? We...
Read moreI’m changing my review to FIVE STARS because of the Thursday night staff on Sept 4th.
I came in at 8:45 pm (they close at 9) and was hesitant to order since I didn’t want to bother anyone if the kitchen was already clean. When I asked, the kitchen guy in the back immediately said he’d be happy to make my food—no problem at all. The crew was awesome!
Special shoutouts:
David (cashier): Hands down one of the nicest individuals I’ve encountered in customer service. Extremely kind, patient, and professional. He is literally the reason I changed my two-star review to a five. This young man will go far in customer service.
The young lady cook: She was so sweet and thoughtful—she even offered to put my sauce on the side in case I didn’t like it.
The staff truly went above and beyond, even at closing time, and made me feel welcome. That kind of service deserves recognition.
(For context: my old review was two stars because I was frustrated with not being able to order through the windows—it felt ridiculous. But this amazing crew completely changed my...
Read moreTo start off, my husband and I love McAlister's. It's affordable for a good sized, balanced meal, and it tastes great. However, it has been a couple months since we've been through a town that has McAlisters, and today we were driving through Huntsville on a roadtrip, so we decided to stop for lunch. The food tasted great as always, but the portion sizes were TERRIBLE. We ordered a side of mac and cheese, and the side cup was barely filled 1/3 of the way. It was about 3 bites worth. When I asked the workers about this, they said that this was a new idea from management to serve smaller portions to cut back on cost. So I just want to say this to management- that is a terrbile idea- unless your idea is to lose customers. Then you're doing great. So here's a piece of advice- if someone actually pays money for a meal, then they want to eat a meal, not just try a sample. I know- what a crazy idea. Do...
