Newk's Eatery — Restaurant in Huntsville

We have been eating at this Newk’s location now and then for at least 10 years, and stopped by last night for dinner. The man at the counter taking orders did not greet us when we walked in, and he was abrupt and rude when we placed our order. I ordered the new Pesto Pasta Chicken Caesar Salad and was disappointed with the order. The lettuce was not crisp, and the salad was smothered in far too much of the Caesar dressing. So smothered that the only thing I tasted was the dressing. Atmosphere-wise, I do not think this restaurant has been upgraded in all of the years we have been coming. Great, healthy food. The menu has a multitude of different items for different tastes and a bit of ingredient flair goes with each food. I absolutely live the pickle and pepper bar to add to sandwiches and salads. The lobster crab bisque had awesome, rich flavor however it did lack the chunks of the proteins promised. The only real negative i can give would be on the staff's knowledge of menu ingredients. This could have just been the employee who helped us, however he was eagerly willing to find and deliver the ingredient menu, i just wish that was posted with the menu. Ordered five cheese pizza. It was brought to me on a wet silver pan overcooked. Typically they place a lining sheet between the pizza and the pan, but not this location. When we asked for a new pizza, the lady took the pizza, put it on the lining, and brought the same pizza back out! My husband ordered a half salad with chicken added. They didn’t bring the chicken. When we did get the chicken it was very cold and looked old. We got our money back and left. The manager did apologize, which is why I gave them three stars.
