Pig N Out — Restaurant in Huntsville

If I could do zero starts I would. The food tastes ok but if y’all knew what was going on in that kitchen there is NO WAY you’d ever eat there again. They have the cheap tin pans to use for reheating meats and wings that are not allowed to be thrown away until they have been used so many times they are black. Meats are kept at unsafe inconsistent temperature, and raw meats are never stored correctly. NOTHING in that kitchen is ever cleaned properly, dishes are hand washed with just hot soapy water which is not allowed for the food service industry. The pint and quart plastic containers they use to serve things have probably been used 100 times and are only thrown away when they are to stained or broken. I was instructed once to use a bag of slaw mix that was clearly rotten to make vinegar slaw. I did as told while Mrs. Lee was there but once she left I threw the entire thing away. Mrs. Lee is as sweet as can be to her costumers but employees are not so lucky. I once had to field a call from a costumer whose order had been messed up and instead of offering a refund or replacement was told to tell them we had checked our video footage and that the order was correct and was cussed by the costumer for doing so. By the way no video footage was reviewed. Employees are treated with NO respect and talked to like children, costumers are talked about like dawgs. I could go on and on and on. The health department came by and found so many things wrong that she ended up walking out if she had done her job the place should’ve been closed for the violations found. Our experience started off good. The restaurant was clean and we had heard good things about it. Our order was taken promptly. We were taking pictures while waiting and the worker said it was okay and we could continue even though we were a little loud. Then, a few minutes later, the owner (I assume) was sitting in a booth berating an employee, and she was YELLING. She was yelling and stating how the employee makes her angry. It went on for about 4 minutes. She finally got up and went the register to handle the customers that were waiting.

Our food was brought out, but the order was wrong. We were short a side. We tried to explain it to her and she couldn't understand. I got the impression she thought we were wrong, or lying, trying to get another side. She said okay and walked away. The BBQ tasted okay. The quantity was a little skimpy. About the time we finished eating, our side of mac-n-cheese came out. I went to pay and was told the total. It seemed high and I was not given an itemized receipt. I didn't feel like arguing with her about it.

Needless to say, we won't be back - simply for how she treated...

Ordered the 1lb pull chicken white meat. It comes with a 8-pack of hamburger buns, 2 sides (1-pint size), and mayo or vinegar coleslaw.

Ordered the quarter slab of ribs with BBQ sauce on the side.

Chicken:

The chicken had a good flavor to it and the white sauce was pretty good. It made for a good sandwich with the provided buns. 5/5 for pull chicken white meat.

Sides:

Mac & Cheese- please stay away from the Mac & Cheese. Unless you like creamy Mac & Cheese with no flavor. I wish it had a little crust to it and more flavor and texture. 1/5

Bake Beans: The bake beans were decent. It had a good taste to them. I prefer a little bit of brown sugar in my bake beans. I would order them again. 4/5

Mayo Coleslaw: This is not my expertise but my wife gave it a thumbs down. I think for me; there wasn’t a freshness or crunch to the coleslaw that I like. 1/5

Bonus:

Pork Ribs - I was highly disappointed in those ribs. Honestly, it had a funny taste to them. I couldn’t take another bite. I tried them without BBQ to get the full flavor and it wasn’t there at all. 1/5
