UPDATE 2/7/2024: Just wanted to give the staff many thanks for their accuracy, efficiency and pleasantness since my last review. Our family does not go out of our way to be buttheads about ordering and we are grateful for the opportunity to order food this good and have it delivered to our doorstep. John (area manager) has been phenomenal in finding solutions to issues and communicates in a manner that seems to make things happen. We do appreciate every single delivery and for the continuing excellent food Steakout provides our community.
UPDATE 5/17/23: Staff & Managers on duty are indifferent & defensive when confronted about mistakes, instead blaming others, blaming "newness", etc. I've been lied to & scolded by several staff, as if their mistakes were our fault. The Manager tonight, David, made a point of telling me at least 3 times that he & I had never spoken before. How is that relevant? And, still with no apology. I'm blown away by the lack of professionalism, customer service & that staff are allowed to get away with this behavior. Things sure went downhill at this store when Mary left, but I'm sure the employees will be allowed to continue because it's the #1 producing store because of where it's located. If it were not located right by the Hospital, your staff would have to work a little harder on their people skills. Tonight will be our last order for a long time. We enjoy ordering out, but there are so many other choices with staff who are dedicated to excellence because they aren't located beside the Hospital. We will choose to give our money to those vendors instead. Good luck.
UPDATE 8/10/22: Old faithful customers PSA - Dressings are not always Naturally Fresh. Ken's is now being used instead. Order takers won't tell you. They taste completely different, especially the Caesar which is more vinegary & burns/overpowers the salad. They also frequently are leaving out the croutons/crackers. I hope this is not a sign of things to come, as Steak-out has always been a favorite of ours due to their commitment to excellent food. This excellence is slipping.
2017: Food is usually great, which is the only reason we even keep ordering. Drivers can't differentiate between Road & Drive (or blindly follow GPS instead of the instructions we've given during every order). Delivery usually takes 50min or so, plus the 10 extra min for the driver to figure out they should've turned right at our n'hood entrance. The driver also scolded me for "not having our porch light on so he could see our house number". Our house # is not on our house, it's on our mailbox like all the other homes in the n'hood, which was literally beside him when he called to scold us because he was "scared to walk up the dark sidewalk" (his words, not ours). Beyond frustrating, but wouldn't be so bad if it didn't happen two out of every five times we order...we've been customers for thirty years. SAVE YOUR TIP MONEY & GO PICK YOUR ORDER...

She apologized about the poor quality meal we had, and they have made things right. As such, I have change my rating up to 5 stars. We have always ordered from Slaughter Rd. location since it’s close to home and have been very pleased with quality of food over the years. Happened to be at doctors office yesterday near HSV hospital so we ordered from Whitesburg location to take home. Got 2 steak tip dinners. My steak was OK for most part, but a few pieces were tough - hard to chew. My wife’s dinner was much much worse. Most pieces of her steak tips she could not chew to even swallow. She left half untouched. I tried to cut up her untouched pieces on cutting board with sharp kitchen knife and most of them I had very difficult time cutting in half. The pieces she had spit out were just as bad and very tough. What few pieces I thought were somewhat editable I gave to our dog. The potato’s and salad were great as always, but somehow a really bad tough as nails steak got sold to us. Next week when in town going to stop and see if I can get a refund. If so I’ll post another review. Just our bad luck this time. We will order again, but may stick...
Read moreI called in a delivery order the lady on the phone was very nice I ordered and ribeye steak sandwich asked for everything on the side. I told her to make sure my steak and bun are separated so my bread will not be soggy. She replied I’ll do it without the bun. I told he no I want my bun I just didn’t want them to put my steak on it. When I received my food my steak was well done I ordered it medium rare but it had no pink. My steak was on the bum and cheese to so my bread was soggy. When I called the manager he was so rude I had to ask him no to be. He would ask me a question and before I could answer he would over talk me and cut me off. When I give u direct instructions about my food if you mess it up show some ownership and fix the problem. They brought me back a bun and a piece of cheese to make a cold steak sandwich. Thanks...
