One of the best Caribbean restaurants I’ve been to anywhere. I was a patron of Mango’s Caribbean, which was the previous brick and mortar for this restaurant. They provide both vegan and meat (regular) options. They have a Sunday menu with Fish Fry offerings. I always go for a Jerk and Curry Chicken combo and that’s what I did this time. You may think it’s pricey, but it’s a significant amount of food. It lasted me two meals.

I was informed that you can only do half portions of the regular menu, but the vegan menu you have to get whole portions. The next time I come here, I want to try the vegan meals. They also have the traditional drinks like cola and mango lassi.

There’s a lot of covered outdoor seating since it’s...

It's funny reading these comments on the Jerk Chicken being too hot. Clearly you don't know why its called 'jerk' chicken!! 🤣 It's supposed to be spicy!!!!! IYKYK. Y'all have been eating those pseudo iterations around town from 'the best' Jamaican spots. 🙄 If you want real jerk chicken, TAMARIND ISLAND is the only spot. If I want chargrilled chicken and bbq sauce (which you get from these other places), I can cook that on the grill. 😮‍💨 The mac n cheese...🤌🏽 the best I've ever purchased from an establishment. Cabbage was good as well. Next ima see what them oxtails talking about. 🤤 In summation...Tamarind Island is as close to Jamaica as I've gotten since being in...

I’ve been a customer of Chef Lauren since she had Mango’s. Her food has consistently been cooked perfectly. The jerk chicken is always a winner, but is definitely bringing that kick! The fried Whiting fish is a winner for sure. But the best thing here, is the Sunday Oxtails hands down! Today I got the curry goat, also only served on Sundays. The meat itself was just as tender and juicy as the oxtails however the flavor profile is completely different. If you’re going for something slightly sweet and rich, go for the oxtails. If you want that salty and spiced flavor, the curry goat is what you want. Chef Lauren and her staff are always...

🌟 Tamarind Island - A Culinary Gem in Huntsville! 🌟 Located at 5909 University Drive, Huntsville, AL, Tamarind Island has become one of my favorite spots at The Camp! Their #LunchboxSpecial is a must-try and makes it on my top 10 list of restaurants here. 🍽️ Whether you're craving the crispy delight of fried oyster mushrooms, the satisfying zing of vegan fried chicken or fish, or the rich, comforting taste of traditional cultural curry, jerk chicken, oxtails, and more, they've absolutely nailed it. Each dish is masterfully crafted with rich flavors that remind you of home-cooked goodness. 🤤 And let's not forget those delicious sides! Macaroni and cheese and collard greens perfectly complement the main courses. ❤️ This place is a 10 out of 10 for me! Don't just take my word for it; head over and experience it for yourself. You'll see why it's a local favorite. 🏆 #VeganDelights #SoulFoodHeaven #TamarindIsland #HuntsvilleEats #FoodieFavorites #review #restaurant #travel #content #creatorsearchinsights #fyp #huntsvillealabama #tiffanytalks #trending #family #carribeantiktok #tiktok #carribeanfood
