The lamb gyro tasted good. The cucumber salad was good too. The staff were very polite. In fact they were exceptionally well mannered. The place was clean.
The staff are not knowledgeable about the ingredients. This is a concern since a pillar of Tazikiās marketing is wholesome and whole foods and they boast the use of olive oil. It isnāt the staffās fault for not being knowledgeable. It is the lack of training to that end.
I was told that the only oil used at Tazikiās is olive oil. Once served, I found the section on Tazikiās web site that reveals the ingredients.
The three oils used at Tazikiās are Olive, canola and soybean oil. As one who seeks to avoid seed oils, I was disappointed to have been misled.
If you are going to market wholesome and whole foods then donāt be selling ultra-processed foods. The breads are ultra processed. They include potato chips with the gyros. Howās that possible to serve chips while saying they serve no oils but olive like the staff informed me? It is a lie to say wholesome or whole foods and at the same time serve ultra-processed.
The sauces and dips contain canola oil. You canāt get away from it here.
This place isnāt what it makes itself out to be. I wonāt come back because itās impossible to eat here and avoid canola and soy bean oils. It is nearly impossible to eat here and avoid ultra processed foods.
Now, if you donāt mind ultra processed foods, if you donāt mind soybean oil and canola oil, then this place is great. Iād eat here again if I werenāt concerned about eating harmful substances.
The marketing of health for profit without really doing it is unethical and intolerable to me. Unfortunately, itās the way of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe frequently eat at Tazikiās and always have an enjoyable experience. However on this occasion the server Melanie was rude to the point of ridiculous. I waited as she took an order for two women ahead of me and heard them substitute the chips for roasted potatoes. When it came to my turn I asked to make the same substitution and was told that could not be done, when I mentioned she had done it for the other customers she said it would cost .75c more which she did not charge the other customers. This continued with each meal I ordered. But what really upset me and made me cancel the order and leave was her attitude and the way she spoke to me. I was respectful at all times yet she was openly hostile and as unaccommodating as humanly possible. Her retorts ranged from nasty āthat meal comes with fruit or chipsā to āthatās just the way it isā when I started to ask with the kids meal ābut can Iā she cut me off and practically yelled āI said it comes with fruit or chips and those are your optionsā. At that point I cancelled the order and left. Sad that Tazikis has allowed such a venomous and obnoxious person to damage their business. We regularly spend $40-$50 per meal there but will no longer be attending that location. Melanie does not at all personify the kind of staff we have become accustomed to at Tazikis. In addition to her deplorable customer service skills Melanieās appearance was unkept and dishevelled. Her uniform was dirty and she was brusque and rude as soon as we entered the premises. It is clear that Melanie either despises her job or dealing with...

Update Feb 2020: downgraded again. I hate to write this, as I love their food. I'm just tired of the unfriendliness of the drive thru employees. Do not simply say "order when you're ready" when a customer pulls up. I mean, add a simple" hello" at least. When asked by a customer "how you are today" it's a good idea not to completely ignore them! Staff apparently need to be trained on common human decency, and if they can't handle simple and polite conversation, maybe move them to a position where they don't have to interact with people.
Update 7/5/19 changed to 4 stars. I was in a hurry trying to get dinner home, and Tazikis is always a lifesaver.
We have been ordering and picking up using their curbside service for the last few orders. I order the same thing each time, but the app crashes constantly so I end up calling in the order for curbside pickup. No problems before. Today I was told, "you have to order curbside online."
Ok, no problem except it will not allow me to sub anything, whereas they always did on the phone. Again, ok no problem so I call back and explain that I cannot order what I want because it won't let me sub.
She tells me to put my sub into the comments box and she'll take care if it. Great. Except the comment box only allows for one word!
Is it really that hard to take my order over the phone and walk three steps to my car? Why advertise convenient service when I have to walk in and stand in line until someone is available to hand me my already...
