I've had Teriyaki Madness twice now (once in store, once delivered) and have been fairly happy with it both times. It helps to try to think of it more along the lines of a fast casual restaurant; if you're looking for full service, more upscale Japanese food, this isn't it.
When I dined in, the establishment was clean and the man working the cash register was friendly and polite. Food took a touch long coming out but they say they make it fresh and it seemed fresh to me, so no real complaints there. When I ordered delivery through DoorDash, my drink was forgotten, but that just as easily could've been the fault of the dasher -- who really knows?
Both times, I've had the chicken breast teriyaki bowl with brown rice and vegetables. Meals/combos come with a drink and an egg roll. The egg rolls are crispy and satisfying. I've found the chicken to be flavorful (smaller pieces run a little dry though), with adequate portions of rice and veggies. I really like that they have nutrition facts available. It's fairly easy to build a healthier meal than what you can get at many other similar fast casual concepts. Price is maybe a little high, but I don't think it's ridiculous. Husband likes their spicy chicken bowl as well.
I'm always down for more diverse fast casual options, so in my book, I'm glad to have this new restaurant around. For what it is, it's a...
Read moreThis was hands down one of the worst meals I’ve had in a long time. I was really excited after seeing the FB ads and from other ppls reviews - I was so disappointed. I ordered for delivery- that part was fairly easy and the times were accurate. I ordered the katsu chicken with mixed vegetables and brown rice. I added on egg rolls and crab Rangoon. Also 2 drinks which the driver left at the store and told me “oh another driver will bring them back” and left. I called the store for that issue( this was before trying the food) and she told me she would issue a refund for the drinks. I opened the bags with the egg roll and Rangoon and there was so much grease they were soggy. Like so soggy it was like it was raw. I opened the lid of the katsu chicken and was initially not impressed. It reminded me of the cheap chicken patties in a bag from Walmart. It was amazingly dry and greasy at the same time. Like it had been microwaved. I lifted the chicken and the mixed vegetables was cabbage with a few flecks of carrot. None of what I had was edible. My son got the chicken teriyaki bowl with only broccoli and his was ok. All in all a sad and sorry experience and one I will not be...
Read moreGood taste, portion/price seems reasonable, takeout needs improvement.
Tried the mad spicy steak bowl. The steak, rice, and vegetables were tender, above expectations for chain fast food meals. The sauce was well balanced and blended through the meal. There is additional sauce to add more flavor, but is not needed.
Portion was within expectations for price. Highly recommend downloading the app as it will help you save a little on the price. A meal for 4 may run you around $40, which is getting to be the average for fast food in 2025, but the app deals can drive this down further.
Be cautious of the ventilation in the restaurant. The smoke may be thick and leave you smelling slightly. They do have the option for outdoor seating if the weather cooperates.
Takeout needs improvement. There's a stand hidden to the side for takeout orders, but it's not utilized. When you arrive for pickup, the person at the register may not be present and you wait until they arrive and ask if you want to order. Took some time to get my order, no biggie, others in a rush may want to consider this.
Overall, good food,...
