A last minute pickup order at the adjacent Walmart brought me to Touchdown for a quick carry out lunch. It was a decent experience -- boyfriend gives the wings a four, but my chicken tenders were a three, and since I'm the one writing the review, here we are at a three.
One cool thing is they have a drive through window! You still have to call in your order (ie you can't just roll up to the window), but I love any place that doesn't require me to go inside currently. I called as my groceries were being loaded and they said my food would be ready in about 10 minutes. Since I was so close, I pulled up at the 11 minute mark, and lo and behold: food was ready.
Prices are pretty good here -- for right at 20 bucks, I got a ten piece hot wing meal and a four jumbo tender meal. Both came with a fairly large serving of French fries and a can of soda. One small ding against them: their menu advertises a 16 oz fountain soda with these meal combos, not an 8 oz can. I don't drink that much soda anyway so it wasn't a huge bother, but if you're thirsty that may be worth some consideration.
Meals held up relatively well on the drive home, despite being all fried food. At least a moderate degree of crispness was maintained, which is all I could hope for.
Again, boyfriend thought the wings were a solid 4/5, and possibly better if he'd had them super fresh. The fries are just okay. My tenders were super, super meaty -- all white meat chicken.
The main detractor was just a lack of flavor. I wouldn't say the food was flavorless, but it really needed more umph. The fries weren't salty enough, and the hot wings were just hot (sensation-wise) -- but without much pepper flavor. The chicken tenders sorely needed thicker, crunchier breading, and what breading they did have needed some more seasoning. One final mark against them from us is their ranch is just a Ken's ranch cup. We're addicted to any kind of house-made ranch, so we're liable to seek out a place that does that first.
I sound harsher than I really feel. This is a decent place for a convenient, affordable meal, especially if...
Read moreThis is the second negative experience I’ve had with Touchdown Wings by the south Huntsville Wal Mart. The first was due to the owner being rude directly to me by rolling her eyes and walking off when I asked her a question because she doesn’t speak English well enough to understand. I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and give it a second go. Today, I called in an order and they told to be there in 30 min to pick it up. Which would have been halftime in the game so I thought, perfect! However when I got there to pick it up at the appointed time and asked why I had to wait, I was informed that they don’t start making the food until I arrive as a general rule. I told the girl at the register, “if I had known that, I wouldn’t have called in at all. I would have just come in and order. I was trying to time the pickup for halftime.” She said, “well, we don’t want your food getting soggy”. I said,”oh ok, the makes sense. But I wish I had known that before I called in and placed the order to be ready at this time.” She said under her breath sarcastically , “now you know...” I said, “I’m sorry what did you say?!” She repeated it. I said, “yeah! Now I do know! I know to never come back here because you don’t know how to talk to your customers!” Then another employee named Madison gave me my food and I tried to gain a sympathetic ear about the other employee, and was told, “all she said was,....now you know!” Then Madison rolled her eyes and walked away!!! I have never been treated this way at any place of business EVER! I am furious!! I will NEVER be back to touchdown wings again. There is nothing they can do at this point to make it right. There are many other wing restaurants in Huntsville that know how to treat their customers, I will go to them. Do not give your money to this place. Do not even step foot in the door! Awful experience! And the wings...

This was my first time ordering food from here in 5 months. I stopped ordering because one day I ordered a wing combo and they gave me my order and my fries was soiled in grease at the bottom and served my wings in old cooking oil. I decided to come back today in 5 months in hopes that not going for awhile the food would have improvment. Well, that failed as today. I ordered the same combo, I asked for my food to be a certain way, and I double checked with the cashier at the window. She assured me that what I ordered was correct, but when I got home the order was wrong. I called to let them know that my order was incorrect and they told me in order to make my order correct that I would have to bring my food back. ("RED FLAG") THAT WAS DEFINITELY A RED FLAG!! normally a business is not suppose to take food back after they give it to you. I returned the food, by the time I got there I was upset because I had to leave my home after they messed up my order not to mention having a toddler. Then had to come back, bring my food back which is frustrating that I had to make an unnecessary trip. Instead I asked for a REDUND! They refunded my order and the cashier told me that the owners told me to never come back!! I was applaud that they treated me this way, they messed my order and I had to waste unnecessary gas coming back out to tell me not to never come back. Which it was their fault the reason my order was messed uo in the first place. This is very pathetic. How rude was that?? Very unprofessional and it made me feel uneasy and it was also not fair. Horrible experience. (Side note: This day the chicken wings were small and...
