Slim Chickens — Restaurant in Huntsville

I want to say 5 stars, but the cleanliness thing is an issue for me. The establishment is clean, parking lot is also clean. But here's the deal. I've been in the drive thru quite a few times, and on multiple occasions I have witnessed an employee going out to their car and smoking a cigarette, then proceeded to walk straight back in to the line and start handling food, not even with gloves on. No time to wash their hands because from the time you see them go into the door they are back in the food prep area within 2 or 3 seconds. On the slim chance they are washing their hands, their washing for about 1 seconds at most because they are literally right back on the line. When I saw it happen the last time, as the girl was handing my food (From the first window) I told her, "you see that guy with the silver chain necklace, he should really wash his hands after coming in from smoking in his car" she just kind of looked at me with this glare like I'm the bad guy, and they clearly remember me because now whenever I go there they are very clearly different towards me.

Moral of this whole review is that employees should really wash their hands. I know it's not all of them, but I can point out at least two that just run right back in the door and go back to handling food. I mean, what if they had just scratched their nuts while sitting in their car, or put their finger in their ear, hair, arm pit, nose. . . You get the point.

I have been here 3 times now and I'm pretty impressed. The cayenne ranch chicken sandwich was delicious and more than I could eat. I got the ranch chips with it. They were good but not great. Huge order though. And with a drink came in at under $10. I tried the wings on my second visit. I ordered them dry with sweet chili sauce on the side. They were good but mine are better. Then yesterday I went and ordered the fried mushrooms with cayenne ranch dressing. They were absolutely delicious! My only real complaint is when I went in yesterday no one greeted me and I stood there for several minutes. There were 2 girls at one register and one of them finally looked up and said she couldn't help me she was trying to clock in and that the girl on the other register would have to help me. I looked at the other girl and she said she couldn't help me right then even though she was just standing there. Another gentleman was kind of off by my side at that register and he said go ahead he was waiting. Seems there had been a problem with this gentleman's order from earlier and she didn't know what to do and kept looking in the back like waiting for a manager to come out. The girls on the other register both walked away and finally someone came out of the back and talked to the gentleman and my order finally got taken. I was actually about to leave by that time. 3 strikes, you're out! I've tried this place on 3 separate occasions. Let's get past the fact that they are high priced... but I've found the quality of food to be low. 1st trip the fries were limp, greasy and cold (drive throught). 2nd visit was eat in and decided not to go the fries route and chose fried pickles... oh my, what a disappointment! They were limp, greasy and too salty to eat. He chicken was good, but not great. You know how you'll try a new restaurant and it's so good that you can't wait to go back? Well on today's visit, (drive through) I ordered 3 piece chicken fingers and 4 jar desserts. (1 strawberry and 3 brownie) I specifically said that I did not want the oreo desserts. (My family doesn't care for oreos) Sure enough, I get home and they has given my 3 oreo desserts along with my 1 strawberry. Now the strawberry was mine, so I was satisfied... however, the family was not pleased at all. I called and of course the answer given was "we'll make it right if you'll just drive back." With gas prices still high, I was not going to make an extra trip to swap the desserts. Granted, this place was on my way home from work, but so are 3 other chicken places. I had wanted to give this place a good try before commenting. Fir those prices and the low quality of food and service, I will not be back.
