LONG REVIEW: Today my spouse and I were out and about doing errands and felt like having some breakfast food. So we asked Google, “Where can we find good breakfast food?” Bacon’s Bistro & Cafe was one of the option. Never heard of it and I was in disbelief that an establishment had such a silly and catchy name as Bacon… SO WHAT DID WE DO… LIKE ANY OTHER HUMAN WOULD… We went of course. Bacon is always a win!!! We got there, and the inside is very appealing to the eyes, and was very clean. Lots of people were there. One of the owners said there would be a table for us shortly. Then we sat. There menu is not all that large, however, in my opinion that is best. That tells me they focus on the best ingredients and menu option, and make them perfect and super good too. Less is more in situation like this. Our server, Kristen, came over very cheery, and smiling. I told her this was our first time, and her response was so awesome, “I promise it won’t be your last!” LOVE IT HERE ALREADY! She got our drink order and told us she would be right back, and if we had any questions to ask. So we browsed through the menu. Both decided on what we wanted. When she returned she was excited with what we both got. I ordered Pan Omelette. Three eggs, with 4 options to choose from inside, hashbrowns, and choice of either a bread (english muffin, toast, etc.) or a biscuit. I chose bacon, ham, and cheddar cheese (doubled on the cheddar cheese), and a biscuit. My spouse chose an item from their Special Menu. This Menu lasts between 3-6 months if I recall correctly. My spouse ordered Bayside Egg Benedict. Eggs Benedict with imitation crab meat, hashbrowns, and a decent size bowl of fresh fruit. Looked devine! The food tasted so good, definitely can tell they put a lot of time and effort into their dishes. They do not just throw it out there, and call it a meal. You can tell the staff really care, and it totally shows through their food. So we waited a little while, but we were told many times that it would be out shortly, and they were sorry for the wait, but if there was anything they could do for us while we wait to let them know. Finally our food came out and the other owner came out and apologized for the wait and said it was because they are still learning the special menu, and wanted it to come out perfect. To let him know what we think. (Mine was not on the special menu, but I understand why he would say that. This showed me he truly cared about the meals he/his kitchen was putting out). Personally for both my spouse and I, we do not mind waiting for good food, especially if there is good customer service attached to that!!! He seemed happy about that. BOTH OF OUR MEALS WERE AMAZING!!! JUST LIKE HOMEMADE!!! Duh. Little Mom and Pop Restaurant. So yeah, of course, it is going to taste like ‘home’!!!!! Our server was incredibly sweet, and was super attentive. You would have never thought they were short-handed. Everyone was pitching in and helping each other out with each others table; INCLUDING BOTH THE OWNERS!!!!!SO AWESOME!!! If you enjoy a really excellent meal, homemade good food, decent prices, awesome staff, and customer service that goes over and beyond what you expect?! Then this is the restaurant for you!!!!!!!! Give them a try you will not be disappointed!...
Read moreAlways looking for a good Sunday breakfast spot, and this is it! We stopped in on the way home from church this morning to check it out and we are so glad that we did. It has a great atmosphere, our waiter was very nice knew the place, knew the menu, clearly he's been here quite some time. The food came out very quickly the person that delivered the food was very friendly, chatted for a second and then left us to our food. The waiter checked back enough to not be lacking anything but not so much that it was obtrusive. We both had coffee it was good coffee. I had the chicken fried steak which was clearly freshly made here, not those frozen packaged things that you get in some other places. I had over easy eggs which were cooked just right. The dish came with country potatoes which have onions and peppers, I felt like it was a little bit clunky, could have been a more cohesive side but it tasted pretty good. The onions and peppers could be cooked a little bit more than I like. My wife had the classic breakfast with turkey patty sausage and enjoyed it quite a lot, check out the pictures. The biscuit was nearly perfect, light and fluffy inside while nice and crispy on...
Read moreTruly disappointing. I had eaten here once before years ago and was very happy with that experience, but not this time.
The service started out a bit shaky, but then the staff seemed to get into a groove and the tables seemed to get better attention.
My complaint was with the poor food quality and ingredients. The coffee was typical weak coffee. I hoped for better, but pretty standard for a coffee shop. The pancakes smelled delicious but had a bitter undertone/taste. Not burnt, just something in the batter mix. The syrup had no flavor, just bargan basement sweet syrup with no flavor. The syrup was warm however, and they did have real butter and 1/2 & 1/2 creamers on the tables.
And now the reallly bad. The sausage pattys were the pre-cooked variety. There are a number of grades of pre-cooked sausage pattys available in the food service industry, and this one was on the low end of the scale, all filler and no flavor. McDonalds sausage is pre-cooked and was considerably better that these. In addition, the pattys were over "re-cooked" leaving them dry. The only moisture left in them was grease.
I left most of my breakfast on the table. Lost...
