Beggars Pizza - Hyde Park / Kenwood — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

This is a review of the Beggars pizza menu and online ordering process, NOT the local store. Tonight would have been our second order-- the first was pretty good-- but after at least fifteen minutes of trying to understand what I was reading on the menu, I just gave up. Was going to try the thin crust this time (my wife's preference). Then I went to the signature pizzas: there were 3, maybe 4. The 4th (which only appeared in my ordering menu, and nowhere else online at all) was the "supreme", which had no further description at all (not at all at all)-- in particular of course nothing about toppings. There was a menu of choices to add on, but just one was allowed. How do I know what to add if I don't know what's already included? (Even my cynical mind could not imagine that the "supreme" was a simple cheese pizza or something.) So, the "meaty trio" was what I decided to order. However, there was a menu of meat toppings: sausage, pepperoni and bacon, and all were pre-checked. A trio, remember that. I decided we would pass on the bacon (and give up on adding anything veggie), but I was not allowed to uncheck the bacon! So weird. Went back to one of our...

I am writing this review while I am waiting on my pizza. I ordered online at 11:09am it is now 1:24 pm and my pizza has yet to arrive. I ordered directly with the restaurant so this is not an issue with a 3rd party delivery service this is just bad customer service. I have called the restaurant 3 times only to be told that my food is on the way. After the last call to the restaurant I was told my food had just left the restaurant 7min ago and the driver was in traffic. At this point my order was already an hour and a half late. When I asked to talk to a manager I was told that the managers wearing meetings and they would call me back. Again. I feel like this was a clear sign of bad customer service. When they 1st opened the service was great and pizza was perfect. Now they’ve settled in a bit the service is bland and the pizza is terrible. I ordered a family sausage before closing time and when i got home the pizza was undercooked. The restaurant was already closed but I kept the pizza and called the next day while I was at work. The manager was very rude and said I couldn’t be compensated. I asked the manager for his name & he refused. I decided to never go to that location ever again! My sister told me she had a similar experience there as well with an undercooked pizza. If I want Beggars I’ll just go downtown to the Clinton location that...
