Well, true to form, Burger King is definitely NOT the king of fast food (again). This restaurant is locate r in the Washington park area of Chicago. When we stove up it truly looked as if it was closed and had been for quite some time.
Realizing it was not closed a friend and I went through the drive through. Placed a simple order - two number one meals both large, both with Coke for the drink. Easy right? Clearly not easy for the staff at this BK location in Chicago!
When we pulled around to pay the amount requested by the cashier was $6.53 LESS than we’d been told by the person taking our order. When the difference was points out to the cashier, she got another person to come handle the situation and walked away without explaining to her what was going on. My friend explained. The new Erwin laughed and said the person taking the order had entered 22 number one meals, deleted 21 of them from the register, but correctly told back line crew she needed two meals, not just one. So the register the cashier was looking at had the total for a single meal as opposed to two of them.
After that was resolved, my friend handed the cashier a coupon he had. The cashier said they do not take coupons at the window and informed him if he wants to use it she’d cancel out the order and we could come inside to order. Lacking the time to dine in, he asked for the coupon back. The cashier said she could not find it. No offer to replace it. No further explanation given.
We got our meals and drinks, and pulled forward. Upon opening the bag we discovered that we had one whopper, three cheese burgers, onion rings, fries, and pepper poppers. Nothing close to what we’d ordered.
Lacking the time to go back through and re-order or get the mess we’d received corrected, I called the restaurant and explained the error. The person to whom I spoke identified herself as the on duty supervisor. She asked me, “sounds fishy to me. I mean, if your order was that messed up and you were that unhappy with it, I’d think you would have marched right on up in here and demanded satisfaction be served! I just find it had to believe we messed up that bad .”
Well, guess what?!? Ya did mess up THAT bad and your response to the matter, as a supervisor, was deplorable at best and bordered on outright disrespect!
What is going on with the customer experience and satisfaction in the fast food arena...
Read moreLove, love, love Burger King! My first time at this location and it was something else! Upon entry, the first thing we notice is that the counter is entirely encased behind and under glass and metal! WHAT IN JESUS' NAME?? Then, we see that the women's restroom had an "out-of-order" sign on the door and there is a waste can where the soda machine would usually sit. My friend ordered a double Whopper meal and I ordered a Whopper w/cheese meal. Not prior to nor after placing our orders were we told they had no lettuce. They also had no ketchup packets and couldn't put it in a cup for us as you can at other BK's. We heard from the cashier after we'd sat down and had begun eating our food when another customer began to place their order that they were out of lettuce. WTH? And, heard it again when another customer walked in minutes later and asked for tacos. The tacos BTW came with a slice of cheese rather than shredded cheese. Again, WTH?? Turns out the women's room wasn't out-of-order as a customer walked in needing it for her "dancing" child. She was prepared to use the Men's room upon seeing the sign but they buzzed the women's room for them to use instead. Additionally, we were quite entertained by the locals as we waited for and ate our food. Some were allowed to charge and/or talk on their cell phones, sell their merchandise or were just being a nuisance none of whom appeared to...
Read moreThere is broken glass throughout the parking lot and when I entered the store it looks like a prison. There is a wall to wall, thick protective plexiglass barrier that separates the staff from the customers.
With that barrier up, customers can’t see what is going on nor could the staff see me when I walked in. I had to move around and wave my hand for someone to acknowledge me to take my order.
A Hispanic looking male walk up to the cash register and he did not greet me. I ordered a fish sandwich (made like a whopper) and I was charged an additional 50 cents for onions after being told that onions came on the fish sandwich.
I also asked for tarter sauce only yet on my receipt he added “No Tarter Sauce” therefore, they put mayonnaise on my sandwich and I don’t eat nor like mayonnaise. I could hear them talking about me and when I got home I noticed that mayonnaise was on my sandwich so I could not eat it.
I paid 30 cents extra for a medium fry and I was given a half order of fries so I asked for a fresh order of fries and a black female made an issue out of that and she reluctantly gave me more fries.
I would like a refund on my fish sandwich based then putting mayonnaise on it and based on my bad experience at...
