I'm giving this one star because my sister enjoyed her chicken. That's it!
Because I spent SO much time in line on this past weekend, I got the opportunity to observe how the staff operates. First of all, I just assumed that workers that handle food are trained in food handling, but I clearly made a wrong assumption. The cashiers, who handled dirty money, etc., were also boxing up the food right after each transaction; they did not wash their hands. Right before my cashier finished ringing me out, I asked if she would be boxing my food, and she knew where I was going. She indicated that she would wash her hands first, and she did.
I also watched as the counter and the areas around the food were wiped down with a cleaning wipe that had been sitting in water under the sink. Really? You're supposed to use the wipe one time and then toss it. This person was actually wringing out the wipe and then re-using it. How nasty can you be?
And, then, my chicken . . . I got the mild, which was absolutely horrible! I could not douse it enough with hot sauce to make it taste better. In fact, the breast was undercooked, so I stopped eating my chicken.
I will NEVER go back to that Church's Chicken, which the workers are probably glad to know. And, I hope somebody reports them, or that they get a surprise inspection, because if they do not operate differently, they are going to get...
Read moreManagement overlooked mé twice and tried a 3rd time until I spoke up again about my order. They were playing around and 2 of the workers smelled like cannabis and alcohol. The manager laughing thinking my inconvenience was a laughing moment. When I express a disbelief in my voice then I became the problem.
I made an order online, was given time to pick up in 5 mins but gave them more than 20 mins. The manager had to print out the order receipt after I showed the order in take guy on my the order receipt. The manager ask was the order for me or someone else "I said me" he then proceeds to say "he needs to see ID". I said "since when does an ID need to be shown" and showed the order receipt on my phone. I showed him my id and he started laughing and said something to the order in take guy and they both disappeared and a customer heard them speaking about me and I truly believe he spit in my mother's cup for tea I ordered. I threw that drink away. I will never step foot in there again. Black people need to do better with their customer service. Me being Black myself I want good treatment from whomever. Black folks want good service but doesn't give food service.
I will be reporting to headquarters as well because I don't expect this kind of treatment. I don't like church's but was treating my mother but...
Read moreToo often we patronize these corporations who don't care about our health and safety. This is very sad that I must report this issue, especially since this location just reopened. My husband and I decided last minute to stop in as we were driving past. We ordered 3 two-piece specials with fries and coleslaw. When we initially opened the boxes, you could smell the aroma of burnt grease. Unfortunately, the chicken had a horrible burnt taste which probably meant the grease had not been changed in some time and therefore we could not even eat it. The coleslaw was sour and obviously had been from days beforeâŠdidnât dare eat it after the first bite. To top it off, the biscuits were hard and probably had been out in previous days too. The only good thing were the fries, surprisingly. This location had been recently closed for updates, but it did not appear as if anything had been updated on the inside or outside. There are potholes big enough to flatten any car or SUV's tires. In addition, I noticed a woman who entered with a City of Chicago bag and stated she was there to see the manager. I hope that was #CityofChicago #HealthDepartment as something...
