Tony's Phillysteaks & Sharks Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

I just left this location by CSU and I can assure you that this is my favorite location! I originally was going to get some Barbecue from Pit Stop on 97th and Halstead. I was greatly disappointed by the lack of professionalism there so I left to get something to eat. I tried to get some Popeyes Chicken next door to Tony's but I was further disappointed because their registers were down and they couldn't take orders. So, I went across the parking lot to Tony's. I should have went there in the first place. The Gyro Pan was hot, fresh and made to order. The service was very polite and He went above and beyond to make my experience better after I told him about the other two restaurants. I'm never let down by this location and it is always a great experience. Plus, they play James Brown in the lobby so that is an added plus.

UPDATE!!!!!! So, I just left the exact same Tony's that I left the positive review of on Saturday night tonight. In less than 48 hours, they messed up my order! This is sad because now I have to turn a positive review into a negative one. I ordered and Italian Beef, lightly dipped with cheese and hot peppers. I get home ready to eat and open it up. NO PEPPERS...NO CHEESE AND DRY!! How do you mess up an order this baddly? It's an Italian Beef sandwich...how many people order an Italian Beef dry with nothing on it???? I live to far to just get dressed again just to go back just to get a new order. So, basically I'm stuck. So, now a 5 star review on Saturday has become a 2 star review on Monday. VERY DISAPPOINTED! So today On August 13th I was Lyfting and stopped at Toney” for lunch. The meals in the photograph are to die for and the portions are a lot as well. Seeing the pics, there is no way you cannot stop to grab something to eat. I also like their meal creations such as the melted cheese or chicken wrap. However, these reviews make me feel like I should rethink my review.

(Quick story )I recalled a past friend, eating jerk chicken and telling me this was the best jerk chicken ever. After I tasted it, I laughed and said I will take you to Jamaica then perhaps your thinking will be altered. She bluntly looked at me a born Jamaican and said you don't know what you are talking about. Not because you are Jamaican you know what good jerk tastes like. It was like telling a horse you look like a cat but it's a horse. Perhaps it could be I don't know what good food tastes like anymore but this was not good food in my opinion.

I gave them a 3.5 star because the food was okay. I ordered the loaded fries and I was thinking I would be loaded after I ate the meal. Because their presentation was so compelling I got disappointed after I started eating. It’s like waiting to go on a roller coaster only to find out it’s really a Cho Cho train. The disappointment was unbearable. Although It was not bad food it was definitely not a great meal either.

Bussing… when I say yes they forget to get my lamb chops & I left with only sides because the cashier didn’t check the order. But mistakes happen ..I called in before I came I arrived & I was only in there for 10 mins and everyone that came in was so mean to the poor cashier. Anyways yes she forgot my lamb chops so what…I got a car with gas and patience.. I pulled right back up. Got my lamb chops hot and ready and they compensated me with cornbread and a drink.. anyway I got home with the full meal & it was worth every ounce of gas. I had lamb chops with a side of cabbage.. rice & bean which was included .. Mac .. cabbage and 4 jumbo shrimp. Everything was lovely. Delicious and worth every dollar. Let’s give grace and love to every server and service provider. I’ve witness mean .. impatient guests just sitting in the waiting area. So funny they still come amongst every complaint.
