Well first of all we went there 20 minutes after opening, there was no menu, when we inquired about the menu the cashier/ counter person said she didn't have time to write it on the board as she usually does. She verbally told us the menu, so we ordered baked chicken, dressing, string beans, yams/ turkey wings dressing, collard greens, macaroni & cheese. As we waited 30 minutes, an array of I guess staff arrived, no one washed their hands, and they were very unorganized. We waited 30 minutes just for our food to be fixed from aluminum pans and put in the microwave, and to our dismay it was not even lukewarm. We didn't take it back, but they have a sign in the window, that says "No Refund". So what we did not eat, we left in the car as we ran errands for a couple of hours, we came back to the car, it reeked of soured food. I don't know if it was the dressing or the string beans. I really don't know how this establishment is deemed as an official restaurant, it's too small and there is no way that food is handled properly. The baked chicken was seasoned well, the dressing was very dry, the string beans were ok, the yams were watery, the cornbread was crumbly, the collard greens were mostly stems, turkey wings were seasoned well & tender, macaroni and cheese was dry. I was impressed the first time a ate there wings and shrimp dinner. I walk in today with my nephew and got to experience the love in the air that the food is cooked with. The staff greeted me like a was over their house for thanksgiving dinner. Anything I had questions about were immediately answered and their recommendations were 10000% on point. Greens are A1, catfish off the chain, I really think that the other guy that ordered his food cried in the car because he couldnāt eat till he got home. All my proteins were made fresh to order. Iām going tomorrow to try the short ribs. Also the place was clean spices stored properly, exhaust fans free of grease, floors clean, everyone was wearing aprons, they were using gloves, food stored on the line properly and covered to maintain temps.
