Woodlawn Tap — Restaurant in Hyde Park Township

A decent place for a drink, but a decent drink is all you will get. A cash only establishment with a crowd of regulars, but if it wants to gain any more of them then there needs to be a few changes. The first of which can be the food. Ordered French fries a couple of times when coming here: 1st time = great, 2nd time = stale, and 3rd time = bugs inside of them. Yes, bugs. I asked for a replacement batch of course and upon the next inspection I could see, yes you guessed it, more bugs. I wonder if I was eating bugs on my first or second time I came here for the fries? Secondly, most of the staff are far from friendly. Never been greeted with a smile nor has anybody ever been in the friendliest of moods. Maybe it’s the lighting or the music I don’t know, but nobody seems...

Was a loyal patron. Last night I showed my global entry card (federally issued) as my form of ID. Security guy said “We don’t take it, I know the law.” When I asked him why he just kept saying he knew the law and they don’t take it, eventually landing on: “that’s for traveling, not drinking, I know the law.” I said “why do you accept driver’s licenses, then? Aren’t those for driving not drinking?” I showed him the us.gov website making it clear that global entry is a government ID. I’m not sure if he was power tripping or just in a bad mood, but he just kept saying “we don’t take it”

By the way I have a huge beard and wrinkles, I’m 26 but look like a 35 year old man. It was a good 2 years at Jimmy’s. Loved the greasy burgers, draught beers, and old cash register. I’ll miss...

Been here a couple of times. The beers are decent but the service is lacking. We (2 people only) were abruptly told to move and not sit in front of the bar although there were stools placed there by the business owners. Why are they there if you don't want people sitting there? The bartender demanded we switch seats without saying excuse me, please or thank you under the excuse that they want to serve drinks..as if we're somehow stopping them by occupying two seats across the bar. 🤨

So, so bizarre. No explanation was given, only a demand. Very rude fella, and doesn't even realize it. I am never coming back here..also, I hate places that only take cash. It's the 21st century yet they're stuck in the 1800's. Any business that is cash-only ought to be...
