I am peeved my husband left a tip for our server that was so not deserved thus my low review rating. My son chose this restaurant tonight for his birthday dinner. There was a sign at the entrance apologizing in advance for being short staffed and to be patient. (Anywhere you go now it is almost inevitable the place you are visiting is short staffed. A few months ago, I dined at a local restaurant where we were advised there was only 1 server available for the whole restaurant. While there was a definite wait to get seated, once we were the service was a hell of a lot better than what I received tonight) Pad Thai House wasn't overwhelming busy this evening and we were seated quickly. There was definitely more than 1 waitress serving tables. The waitress was prompt and came to get our drink orders. It went downhill from there. She brought the drinks out and forgot my husband’s beer. After ordering our meal with an appetizer there was a bit of a wait. That was to be expected from the sign at the entrance. We received our meals and once the food was placed, she asked if there was anything else she could do. My husband asked about our appetizer which had yet to make an appearance. She apologized and said she would bring it. Our appetizer was brought out and we finished our meals. The food was average and I wasn’t that impressed. After our meal we waited there for about 20 minutes before the waitress came back to check on us for the VERY first time. She placed the check on the table and asked if we wanted anything else. My son ordered a dessert and I asked for some to go boxes. The waitress came back to advise his dessert wasn’t available since mangoes aren’t in season., so he chose a different one. After another wait, she came back to advise us she had to remake it. At that point my husband asked if we could get it to go. After another wait period she finally brought the dessert to go back but still no to go boxes for our leftovers. I asked if we could get the requested to go boxes and she turned around without saying anything else and finally brought them out also without another word. The fact that she never checked on us or offered refills was very off-putting. There was adequate staff available for the number of diners seated in fact the people coming in for take-out orders received more attentive attention than we did from our waitress. Based on the poor service and average food I will not be a...

Short version: If you are looking to eat, specially something edible, check out any of the other Thai places in town. If you believe curry is more than spicy water, this is not the place. If you are looking to be treated with dignity, look elsewhere too.
Long version: Ordered 3 dishes to go, all were low quality (watery and overcooked) and one was inedible. Called to see how we could fix the issue with the inedible seafood volcano, after a 10 mins hold, finally get to talk to someone who assures me they will replace the dish (fair enough) and have it ready in 15 mins. Get there and there is no replacement dish ready, I am told because my selection is so expensive, best they can do is sell me a new one at half off. Reasoning is I opened dish to try it. (So are you supposed to send dishes back without trying them?).
So I explained to the host why that made no sense but she said the decision was made by the boss (co-owner) who wasn't on site, who also happened to know my dish had been prepared correctly. Now, enter the cook who decided, yes, let's refund and replace the item (a step above what I had expected, I just wanted my dish cooked correctly). Well, what do you know? The owner drove in to try and fight me, so half an hour later the story changes again to "too bad for you". Finally at least got a refund, but the woman couldn't understand the fact she ruined my evening, leaving me...
