Haven't been to a Taco Time in Idaho before, so I thought I would try this one.
The dining area was clean as was the outdoor dining. Overall it looked like a nice establishment to eat at.
I ordered 2 burritos and mexi-fries, also known as tater-tots.
Watching the guys put together the food, I noticed that they were wearing thick blue rubber gloves, and I thought to myself "Oh good, they are practicing sanitary food handling!" Nope. The person who opened the drawers, and touched the microwave door, and touched all sorts of other surfaces that may or may not be clean, reached into the bin of shredded lettuce and cheese to grab some to spread across my burritos. GROSS!
Then, I saw him quickly gather up our burritos, and throw them into a microwave. When he brought me my food, I asked him "Why the microwave?" and he gave me some ages-old made-up answer that "they do that to soften the tortilla".
Anyone who has made a burrito before knows you do this BEFORE the burrito is made, not after.
After getting home a mere 5 minutes later, I bit into my burrito and the meat was cold, which basically shows me that the meat they keep in their bins to serve to their customers is also cold, and the microwave trick usually fools people into thinking their food was fresh.
Guess what? My tater tots were also cold.
First and last time I will go there. It may be fast, but it certainly isn't...

If you're searching for truly outstanding tacos and burritos, look no further. This place is a gem, serving up some of the most flavorful and satisfying dishes I've had in a long time. From the moment you walk in, the vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff welcome you, but it's the food that will have you planning your next visit before you've even left.
The real stars of the show are the Crisp Meat Burritos. Imagine a perfectly seasoned, savory meat filling wrapped in a tortilla and fried to golden-brown perfection. It's an incredible combination of a crunchy exterior and a juicy, flavorful interior that is simply unforgettable. (I love them with lots of ketchup.) Just as impressive are the empanadas (pumpkin empanada? yes please!) Each one is a delightful pocket of flaky, buttery pastry filled with a delicious, savory mixture that melts in your mouth. They're the perfect sweet treat for dessert.
While the burritos and empanadas are must-tries, everything on the menu is crafted with care and packed with flavor. The service is friendly, the portions are generous, and the quality is top-notch. I've literally been visiting Taco Time since like 1985? And I'll never stop. This is the kind of restaurant you'll want to share with friends and family. I can't recommend it enough!
