⭐ 1 Star - Used to Be Great – Now Consistently Disappointing
The Dunkin’ Donuts location in Volo used to be my favorite spot for a quick, reliable breakfast for myself and my coworkers. Unfortunately, over the past year, the quality and service have declined to the point where I can no longer recommend it.
I’ve experienced repeated issues with mobile orders: missing or incorrect items were common. When I ordered two hash browns or Wake-Up Wraps, I often received only one. Avocado toast was frequently either missing the bacon I paid for or had bacon added when I requested it plain. The toast itself? Not toast. Usually cold, soggy, and rarely seasoned consistently. Sometimes barely any seasoning, in other cases, the seasoning was so excessive it spilled everywhere when I opened the box in my vehicle.
Breakfast sandwiches meant to be on croissants were consistently served on English muffins—usually untoasted. The iced lemon loaf I ordered? Never once received it. Instead of a vanilla sprinkle donut, I often got a vanilla Long John. As for their grilled cheese? Essentially it is just two slices of sourdough with a single slice of cheese, mostly hardened onto the crust —definitely not worth the price.
What’s even more frustrating is that, despite placing and paying for my orders in advance through the Dunkin’ mobile app, they were rarely ready when I arrived. I was often told to park and wait so the store could maintain better drive-thru times. That kind of manipulation of service metrics is frustrating as a paying customer.
I submitted multiple complaints via the Dunkin’ app and the receipt survey, but all I ever received in return was an offer for a free donut—which I didn’t want, especially given the odds it would be the wrong one too. I also wasn't looking for free items—I wanted consistent accuracy and quality.
The final straw happened after drive-thru had me pull into a parking spot and I sat there watching an employee with my order in hand walk outside, then turn around and go back in to help other customers, only to return several minutes later – and then criticize me for not parking close enough.
Overall, despite the convenient location, the service and quality control at this restaurant have become so completely unacceptable that I have since stopped going entirely. I cannot recommend the Volo Dunkin’...
Read moreUpdated review. July. I frequently stop at this location. They have gone down hill in their customer service over the past six months. They had a great manager or supervisor who was Spanish. She was personable, knowledgeable, always smiling, and put her customers first. I haven’t seen her at this location in about six months. Today they had four your ladies working - all were congregated at the drive through window; not one of the four young ladies greeted me when I walked in, not one of the four young ladies said we will be with you in a moment. I stood at the counter for five minutes; during the five minutes they all talked amongst themselves at the drive through window. I was the only customer in the store. Shame on them for their lack or customer service skills and poor training. After five minutes I was fed up; it’s not the first time this happened. This time I had enough knowing there were four and I was the only customer in the store. Upon exiting, I called and spoke to a lady to tell her what happened; she halfheartedly replied said oh sorry. She could have cared less. That was it. All I wanted was ice coffee to go. So I went to Lakemoor Dunkin Donuts; they filled my order within five minutes after I was greeted immediately.
—————————— This location was recommended to me by a friend who shared that this location is one of the best in the area. They are one of the best locations in the area. The dining room is always clean; the staff is knowledgeable, and they will creat any custom drink to your liking. I’ve had only positive experiences here. They have had other donuts that other locations haven’t. They have made my coffee drinks to my specifications and they haven’t disappointed or been super sweet. They gave us the incorrect order, took our original order bag back when we went back to tell them it was incorrect, took our incorrect order bag back through the drive thru window, said we need to pay for a new order and then would not give me back the incorrect order. Details below: We had been traveling and were headed to Williams Bay for a church camp for the week. We decided to get a snack after traveling for 45 minutes with another 45 to go. We went through the drive thru, got our donuts and headed to camp. We were about 3 minutes up the road when we discovered our order was completely wrong. One girl said I can eat this donut it is fine but the other girl took a bite of the donut and said she did not like it. I turned around and went back through the Drive thru, they told me to drive up to the window and asked for my bag. She looked in the bag and said you ate one and the other has a bite out of it so we are going to have to charge you again.
