I have had the pleasure of dining at Guac N Tacos in Elmhurst, Illinois, numerous times and I can confidently say it was an outstanding Mexican culinary experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant, inviting atmosphere.
The menu at Guac N Tacos is a true celebration of Mexican flavors and cuisine. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted and prepared with attention to detail. The variety of options available ensured that there was something for everyone, whether you have a preference for traditional Mexican dishes or a desire to try something new and adventurous.
The star of the show, as the name suggests, is the guacamole. It was hands down some of the best I've ever tasted. Made fresh to order, it was creamy, perfectly seasoned, and had just the right amount of tanginess. Paired with their homemade tortilla chips, it was a heavenly combination that kept me coming back for more.
The tacos at Guac N Tacos are a must-try. Bursting with authentic flavors and generously filled, they were a delightful treat for the taste buds. From classic options like carne asada and al pastor to creative variations like shrimp with mango salsa, each taco was a flavor explosion. The tortillas were soft and freshly made, elevating the entire experience.
I cannot recommend Guac N Tacos enough. Whether you're a Mexican food aficionado or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, this restaurant is a gem in Elmhurst. With their exceptional flavors, fresh ingredients, and welcoming atmosphere, Guac N Tacos is a true culinary delight that will leave you...
Read moreHonestly, I used to be a big fan of this place when it opened. I still really like the pork belly tacos, but the quality has definitely gone down. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. The bathrooms are not in good condition -Pretty dank. The men's room has no working lights and we were directed to use the women's bathroom, which could cause some really awkward situations. Here's the kicker though. I had ordered an horchata which is usually good. But after a few sips, I realized it had a bit of an off flavor. I took a whiff and knew that the dairy was spoiled. I informed the staff that they should dump the rest of their horchata, they should not be selling this to people.
They kindly gave us replacement beverages, but did not seem to understand that the flavor was more than "not good". It was spoiled! Expired! Not fit for human consumption! I am a food scientist by trade, I take food safety very seriously.
I sat at the restaurant to enjoy our meal. I was there for about two hours and by the time I had left, they still had the spoiled horchata on display. If this is how they react to being told they have sold spoiled foods, i am afraid to know what other food safety practices they are ignoring.
I won't be eating here again. It's a shame, I really liked those pork...
Read moreAlthough I find this place to have good food, sometimes the customer service, order accuracy, and or state of the dining room can be questionable.
I have come over a dozen times in the last six months alone, and the food is always on point, but so much room for improvement in everything else.
A few times, I ordered through delivery and found mistakes in my order. I always end up getting my money back, but damn, all I want is my food to be correct when i go to sit down once i get home.
Today I walked in and ordered at the counter and found the place in a poor state. Chairs all pulled back, and various pieces of trash were around the floor.
The worst part of my visit was when he took my entire order, and then 3 minutes later, after I sat with my son to wait for him to mention they don't have tinga anymore. Does the cook not speak to the cashier? Had I known there was no tinga, I would not have ordered. Tinga is my wife's favorite, and as such, I needed to visit another Mexican restaurant to complete my order for the night. He immediately gave me a refund but couldn't give me a receipt although I asked for one... He said he couldn't because the system doesn't print one...
